a site that helped me out alot was www.quitnet.com (especially their 24/7 support). i stopped cold turkey over a year ago and that website is the only thing I've used. Heres my stats from that site:

I'll never forget one of my science projects in high school. Had a shoebox stuffed with cotton balls and for 2 weeks pumped cig smoke through the box on a daily basis to simulate what happens to your lungs from hardcore smoking.

Fucking box was so black, brown, and just plain gross when I opened it for the class after the 2 weeks no one could believe how damaging it looked.

Dude, I agree with Batts on the fact that you should be strong and it always was a good idea to quit smoking, but one and a half hours it's just the beginning! You should keep it up for about 4-5 days then your "cold turkey" will go away and I wish you good luck with this bacause I know it's hard :thumbsup :thumbsup

I managed to quit by betting with my friend.
That was six years ago, and it's the longest winning streak ever for me.
Try that, who knows, maybe it will help a lot.

I quit with the ecigarette 2 years ago with zero withdrawals.

first post is a ten year old thread about quitting smoking. ok.
I've not had a cig in 40 years now. Who can say that? Oh i've never had one so yeah

Me, 2 weeks and counting, my max was 4 months then i smoked like a chimney again after that. My goal is to top that 4 months.

It's been 11 years since I quit. I needed to. I was up to 2 packs per day and smoked for 20 years.
