after my mood swings were over (about a week) i started to feel great and wondered why i started such a nasty habit

Babagirls 05-15-2006 09:06 AM

congrats on DECIDING to quit!! you'll feel amazing in like a month. :)
a site that helped me out alot was www.quitnet.com (especially their 24/7 support). i stopped cold turkey over a year ago and that website is the only thing I've used. Heres my stats from that site:

399 days, 11 hours, 7 minutes and 48 seconds smoke free.
11984 cigarettes not smoked.
$2,094.75 and 3 months, 1 day, 13 hours of your life saved.
Your quit date: 4/11/2005

Keep it up! :thumbsup

Th!nk 05-15-2006 11:10 AM

spideriux 05-15-2006 01:04 PM

Congrats, and good luck to you

KRL 05-15-2006 01:07 PM

Awesome! Congratulations!

I'll never forget one of my science projects in high school. Had a shoebox stuffed with cotton balls and for 2 weeks pumped cig smoke through the box on a daily basis to simulate what happens to your lungs from hardcore smoking.

Fucking box was so black, brown, and just plain gross when I opened it for the class after the 2 weeks no one could believe how damaging it looked.

SMOKING KILLS AND DESTROYS YOUR LUNGS!

ContentSHOOTER 05-15-2006 01:11 PM

Sorry if this has been asked but what was your brand of cigs?

woj 05-15-2006 01:27 PM

good job man :thumbsup

VicJay 05-15-2006 01:41 PM

Dude, I agree with Batts on the fact that you should be strong and it always was a good idea to quit smoking, but one and a half hours it's just the beginning! You should keep it up for about 4-5 days then your "cold turkey" will go away and I wish you good luck with this bacause I know it's hard :thumbsup :thumbsup

killerkay 05-15-2006 02:20 PM

Did you end up quitting? :1orglaugh

bsh.simon 01-18-2016 06:15 AM

I am also trying. Stay strong.

LetterTwenty7 01-18-2016 06:45 AM

I managed to quit by betting with my friend.
That was six years ago, and it's the longest winning streak ever for me.
Try that, who knows, maybe it will help a lot.

Frank 01-18-2016 09:53 AM

I quit with the ecigarette 2 years ago with zero withdrawals.

Good luck.

JizzBizzWriter 01-18-2016 10:04 AM

Best of luck with the quitting.
Long ago, I held my father's hand as he died of lung and brain cancer. Later, I held my stepfather's hand as he died of pancreatic and lung cancer. My mom and sis still smoke.

If you have even the slightest delusion that someone on this Earth loves you, please try to stop. Smokers' deaths are hell on people you care about.

Of course, this is GFY. I am convinced most of you bitches here were cloned or hatched from other kinda goo vat. j/k

That said, enjoy and be safe.

2MuchMark 01-18-2016 10:14 AM

Old thread, but congrats to everyone who stopped smoking.

If you're still a smoker, know that you don't look "cool" anymore. You look bad and smell worse.

Want a little help to quit? Do a Google Image Search for "damage from smoking". Prepare to barf.

baggg 01-18-2016 10:18 AM

this is a 10yo thread peeps...

Katy BongaCash 01-19-2016 03:43 AM

first post is a ten year old thread about quitting smoking. ok.
I've not had a cig in 40 years now. Who can say that? Oh i've never had one so yeah

adultchatpay 01-19-2016 04:14 AM

Me, 2 weeks and counting, my max was 4 months then i smoked like a chimney again after that. My goal is to top that 4 months.

mce 01-19-2016 12:41 PM

It's been 11 years since I quit. I needed to. I was up to 2 packs per day and smoked for 20 years.
