don't hold against him that he preffers Napa over well aged Bordeaux...he'll learn. :) |
Is 12clicks the one that wears horrible shirts?

Sadly, very few bordeaux live up to their billing. Give me a well aged Napa any day, a well aged bordeaux only if its exceptional. |
if you had a www.cellartracker.com I'd browse thru your cellar and relive you of aged BDX.
(One can now ship wine to Florida) I despise toasted oak Napa is notorious for. I had a bottle of Rudd 2001 (Red label) for dinner....and toasted oak just kills me! |
P.S. are you buying any '05 BDX futures?

I popped a Leoville Las Cases 1994 two nights ago, after a 2 hour decant, the nose came along but the taste never did. Oh, and my current favorite cali is Peter Michael Les Pavots. (bordeaux style blend. haha |

94 LLC? 94 was one of the worst BDX years, even 97 which was far from spectacular, was a better year.
re: flat - BDX goes into a dumb stage fast, withing 2-3 years and stays flat often for no less than 8, with few exceptions like...2003. I have a nice LLC vertical: 96, 2000, '03 and 96 will be ready in about 5 years. Don't commit infanticide with good BDX, it's a REAL crime. |
Speaking of cute, I'm tempted to post a really nice pic of 12clicks, but I think he'd jump through my screen and strangle me if I did ;)

can you stop talking fashions?
we now talk serious stuff- Bordeaux! |
I like mixing beer and wine. You feel GREAT the next day!

I've got some interesting bordeaux sitting in the cellar, 86 margaux, 20yr verticle of mouton, etc. I just burn thru so much wine, I can't spend all my allowence on french waiting 15 years to crack one. |

I'm thinking I'd reserve that title for 97 Pride reserve cab followed closely by 95 shafer hillside sellect. I've got some of the shafer in the cellar and its all I can do to lay off it. |
P.S. 86 year will be ready, especially 1st growth, in about 5 more years. I'll gladly take '86 Margaux off your hands, just e-mail me the price

hey, here's a wine from left field that will knock your socks off if you can find it. it runs about 60 bucks.
gibson shiraz 2002. open it, let it decant for exactly 1 hour. then drink it completely in an hour. The nose out of the bottle will be nothing. after decanting, it will smell just like a jar of caramel to the point of almost being overpowering. The taste is fantastic. caramel but not overpowering. After about an hour and a half, it gives up the ghost and returns to its just out of the bottle nothingness. I've never tasted a wine with such a dramatic transformation. |

;) It is not overpriced if you know what to look for...1996 provides- great vintage (left bank only, avoid right bank) age price 1/2-1/3 compared to 2003 and 2005 You can't miss and they are available in NYC area, I buy them there. |

when you get to Florida - we'll spend a nite in my cellar, when we get to NJ - we spend a nite in yours. I'd rather drink 'em than talk about them anyway ;) |
