For the 1st time I have to agree with you.

But you're not really fighting never mind winning anything, are you? You're posting on a message board on the Internet.

The people you're talking about gave their lives to end taxation without representation, actually got off their asses and really protested a war they didn't want and took bullets for civil rights.

Good thing GFY wasn't around to hold back Martin Luther King Jr. or he'd have ended up just another wasted potential on a message board.

I'm lost.

I'm a bit lost too. Granted, I didn't take Political Science so I guess that's why. Since you did, could you run down quickly the U.S. Constitution: Sixteenth Amendment, please? Just to jog your memory:

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

Thanks in advance.

While that is true, obviously there is a little more to it then that.

So wait a second here. It's a complex issue involving laws and even the constitution, or there's "no such thing as a tax law in the USA?"? I'm kind of confused now.

Is GFY the only thing you do with your life? Sounds like it. It holds you back? How much time do you actually waste here? What makes you think that people who post about movies like this aren't involved in anything outside of GFY? People that talk about this on message boards can't be politically active, or protest? Spreading the word about problems doesn't help?

Until the feminists told women that they were being oppressed, they thought it was natural and inevitable that women be dominated by men, beaten, not have the right to vote, etc. It was a form of tyranny that was generally accepted. Just like how we accept the financial tyranny we live under today. This country is not democratic in the least when it comes to our economy. Maybe not the worst thing ever, but it's a form of tyranny that is generally accepted.

I agree that if all you do with your life is talk on a message board, you aren't accomplishing anything. But I don't think that having conversations like this on boards and face to face with people is a bad thing. You're right though, people should get up and start standing up for what they believe in. Maybe we wouldn't have 2 political parties that say the same thing 85% of the time. :2 cents:

obviously it's incredibly hard to have a serious discussion without resorting to insults and pissing matches all the time.

Any one of you probably don't know what 95% of the others do in real life, so get over it and don't pretend you know someone unless you truly do!

remove mrs. souls comments from this thread (and gfy in general) and you'd have a much healthier argument.
