Not to be picky, but shouldn't that be worded something along the lines of 'Giving away a 13 month contract worth up to $100k (assuming you complete the contract), and a lease of a car and an apt the entire time under contract'

From the original wording, it sounds like you're giving away the car and apt, but you're just letting them borrow it until their contract expires.

Not that it isn't a good contest. I agree with you that's a nice contract to give a model looking to break into this business. Many are forced to start off small. It's also a great deal for you for obvious reasons, definitely a contest where both sides really make out well :thumbsup

Well if they do well they will most likely keep the car and the apartment! I am looking for someone that will stay even longer then 13 months and I will do everything in my power to keep her happy trust me. The contract is worth more then $100k that's the money they get but they also get to drive a free car and live in a free apartment for 13 months. As for the exact contract the final 5 will be given the official contract to review with an attorney or whoever they see fit to review it. Melissa

I am not trying to be a smart ass as I know that you have really done your job as being the single girl site king but I want to be the single girl site queen and this is where it starts for me. I guess I feel like if I offer a good enough deal I will get some good contestants but as I learned long ago not everything works out. For me I am just ready to take a chance I am very excited for this! I will work my ass off and make it work and that's it! If for some reason they don't fulfill there contract no they won't be paid the last $60k I mean that is pretty obvious if you break your contract you don't get paid. If it lasts and doesn't make at least $60k I am doing pretty much everything wrong I make more then that in one month so I am pretty sure I can make at least enough over the 13 months to cover it. No like doesn?t have anything to do with it, If she does her job she will get the $100k just like any other job or contract. I hope we like each other but this is business and as long as the work gets done it will be fine. If you don't do what you are supposed to at work you get fired it's that simple. If she doesn't do what the contract says then no she will not be paid the rest of her money just like any other deal would work. When I won GND of the Year for Gallery Magazine a couple years ago I had a contract to fulfill and I got my last big pay almost a year after I did my last shoot so yea this is how contracts work in this business. If I would of broke that contract I would not of been paid the rest of my money and really could have been sued according to there contract. I am not going to stoop that low if they break it they are out but I won?t go after any monies they have been paid up to that date I am giving some chick as you put it $100k and a new car to drive and a place to live. I guess I just figure that if she goes through everything to enter, comes to Lincoln with the other semi finalist she has a good chance of making through 13 months. I dont' know how it works with solo models, but is it normal to sign a girl to a 13 month contract after auditioning her a few times?

I ask because people do bring up a good point of how she will act. Maybe she does her job, but she's the ultimate diva and makes your 13 months hell, but still does her job. That would suck for you.

But then again, if that's 'normal' in the adult world, then it's pretty much what you'd end up doing anyway if you wanted to get into the 'Steve Lightspeed' side of the biz. You take your chances when you sign people to contracts I suppose.

I'm really asking mainly because i'm just curious.

Like I said it's all a risk but one I am willing to take! I didn't get to where I am now without taking chances and I still have so much more I want to do. I am now taking on more of the business side of things and in doing so I know there will be ups and downs. I like making money and know my site can't go forever so I will take 13 months of hell for the chance at an extra $500k or possibly even more. Melissa

I'm not trying to question it, i'm really just curious. What is the 'norm' when signing solo models? I know many give them contracts, but do they do a few weeks/months worth of shooting first?

I mean if it's normal to sign them to contracts almost right away, then I don't think what you're doing is very risky aside from the obvious 'bust' (and I don't mean tits) factor, but that's a risk you'll take whether you run a contest or sign some random model.

I found the best way to identify a good potential solo girl is to shoot models on a "per shoot" basis to start with, and use the content on a multigirl site (or have her as a guest on another sologirls site) Only if she proves reliable, and more importantly, popular with surfers and affiliates, then build a site for her.

I've thought some girls would be stars, and been wrong before. This approach takes a lot of the risk and guesswork out of it.

why can't it go forever?
I started my site when I was 23, 9 years later I am still doing it and happy as ever. I don't have any plans of it ever shutting down.

Well I may keep it up for a long time but I want to do other things too! I am buying a line of hair salons as we speak and going to hair school so when I am ready I can go do that. I think your on the right track and if it works out like you invision it, it will be a great opportunity for you and the model.

However, one thing sticks out in my mind and I want to share it with you just in case you haven't already thought about it.

You are promoting this as a " Contest " and it seems to me that if you have a " contest " you have to have a winner. I once was involved with a nightclub that had a " calendar girl " contest and they held a contest to find 12 girls to be in their nightclub calender. I was the photographer. As it turned out, in a city filled with beautiful girls, only average girls turned out for the contest. The nightclub tried to get out of making the calendar but one girl rasied a big stink and the calendar HAD to be made. They couldn't give them away.

I think what you are doing is a " Model Search " not a contest and even though you have layed out your rules for the " contest " I'm not sure they would hold up in court if some girl pressed it like the one did the nightclub.

I'm not sure but I think there are actual laws governing " contests " and they vary from state to state. Might be worth looking into given that what you are planning is going to be so widely publicized.

I'm not trying to shoot you down, I'm just thowing this out there just in case it matters. I'd hate to find out you got into a big hassle later and it could have been avoided if you had known.
