Let me guess, you are a real man driving around in your Top of the line Mercury topaz and a guy in a mercedes that was younger and smarter then you, cut you off by accident.

Real men don't need flashy cars to get pussy. Don't consider yourself a real man, please.

My friend owns a rental compagny.

I work from home and I take cabs too travel most of the time (I don't drive intoxicated) so buying a car would be kinda stupid since cabs cost me less.

What's your opinion on Infinity QX56 compared with other SUV's?

I've drove most SUVs... and my fav one is the navigator.

It was allright, but drinking a shitload of gas (lots more then the hummer!!!).

xNetworx 08-22-2006 04:33 AM

150k+ cars are dude magnets and lead girls to believe you are insecure and then they also try to date you for the wrong reasons. Regardless, I'd like to have one in my garage for special occasions :1orglaugh

ServerGenius 08-22-2006 04:41 AM

Oh and buying means at once.....in cash......else it's called FINANCING or Financial Lease....You haven't BOUGHT it till the last payment is paid. :2 cents:

Living in big cities does change one's perspective. It seems everybody and their silver spoon fed kids has a BMW here.

ok I get it now... so you saying bmw's nothing special but you don't even fucking own a car... and dont give me that "i can rent one when I need" bullshit... and it's not 30k, by the time you add all options, taxes, etc it'll be over 40k$ and thats in usa, since you from canada you should know that they are alot more here, after all options and shit 330 will run you over 50g's canadian.. yes it's still not much, but 50k is 50k and i'm sure only 1-5% of entire population can drop that $ on a car.. so stop being such a fag, and let people enjoy whatever they bought with their money :error

I agree with that haha. I know 0 girls who can tell you what an exotic car is, let alone care about them. On the other hand, tons of guys I know love cars and love the exotics.

The only girls who really know that car stuff are either car buff (unlikely) or gold diggers.

Still, I would buy my car for myself, and no one else. I like exotics and I plan on buying one sooner or later.

the total amount of your cab rides cost you less than depreciation (10% per year let's say), gas and insurace?

how much can a very nice car cost you per year, 10k-12k$?
that's 30$-40$ a day...

That's the way to go ! Keep the car simple but class, then put all your money in a house !!! :thumbsup :thumbsup

L-Pink 08-22-2006 07:07 PM

Then one day, you just don't want to fuck with the hassle of keeping a car nice.

I have a Suburban that my wet dog rides in. Models smoke in. Friends borrow. For some reason I don't get door dings even though I squeeze it in anywhere. I run it thru carwashes every few months. I pile stuff in the back.

Life seems easier.

FACT: If you still live at home and buy a luxury car you need to get your priorities straight :)

pocketkangaroo 08-22-2006 07:56 PM

I don't see why anyone would ever buy a car over $30k unless you were planning to be in it 8 hours a day. Cars are horrible ways to spend your money. Buy a house, condo, rental property, or something that will actually add value to your name.

Rochard 08-22-2006 08:56 PM

Unless you have money to burn and can afford a dozen of them, a $150k car is a waste of money. I can afford a $150k car in a heartbeat but my commute to work is all of four mintues so I would utterly stupid driving it. I mean, I spend more time in the bathroom every morning than I do in my commute.

Difference between having 150K and affording 150K. If you have 150K, then yeah, its not worth it if you only drive it a little. If you can afford 150K, then it doesnt matter if you never drive it because you are probably making 500K/year min and it's rather chump change.

BTW, I never knew you had 1.5 mil sitting around.

exactly... BUT.
I get out of my house 2-3 times a week...
2 times out of 3 it's to go out in clubs.

When I travel I can just rent a car.

It's definitly a lot chepaer and convienent then drinking and driving.

Or you could stop drinking and save the money for a car. :)

Not everyone buys a car to showw off on GFY. Some ppl are just happy they bought something new/different and want to show it to ppl....

bhutocracy 08-23-2006 01:41 AM

Given that most people on GFY don't actually earn enough to pay for gas I can understand someone's excitement at getting their first BMW after they put in the hard years and finally "make it"...
In fact i'd rather see a gfyer of several years work their way up and post their 30k BMW than someone we all know is already rich post a 150k car we already knew they could afford... who in hell said it was that much of a penis measuring competition that meant you had to be able to beat Marc to show off the fruits of your hard work?

One of the best car pics i've seen is Labret's Passat... paid full in cash.

Why the hell would i want to buy a car ? I drive nice cars from time to time when I feel like it and that's it.

A car is one of the worst ways to spend money on. it's fun for a cople weeks / months then it just become normal. I rent nice rentals a month at a time and the "new" factor is there and I enjoy them, beat them and bring them back.

The rest of the time I take a cab.

There is a special bond between a man and his car that mere renters will never understand.. it's like having a girlfriend vs fucking a whore ;)..

But I agree it's a bad way to spend money unless you already have other investments. Kudos for buying a house first.

Car is not a money investment. :) You also spend money when you go out. But what for? Do you spend the money to make money? No. Just to have fun. Just like some people love to drive, its their hobby. If you don't think the same, don't do it. But just because some people do it, it doesn't mean its wrong. I don't see anything bad on people who own a 2 bedroom apartment and drive a good car. Its their money and life is short. Everyone doesn't want to do only the things our parents told us to do, some want to enjoy their money, too.

Actually going out is more part of work then other things my friend ;) and it really don't cost me much... icq me and I'l explain if you want to know why lol.

Some men are car people and some men are gay.

Doctor Dre 08-23-2006 02:44 AM

BTW I'm not saying that buying a 30k-40-50k $ is nothing .... it can be a lot of fun and a beautiful machine.

But making threads after threads about it gets boring for people...
