I skated and BMX'd for many years.... I was in tennis shoes 99% of the time, as I was sponsored for about 10 years of my life...Wore Reeboks, Adidas, etc...

Everytime I was off the tennis court, I popped on my "skater" shoes because there was quite a different feel to them. They have more padding than most normal shoes and are very soft on blisters. I also throw them on when I'm playing drums. Playing a double kick while wearing shell toes isn't the most comfortable thing. Gives your feet the worst tingles around, but the padded skater shoes actually stop that feeling.

I do not skate anymore, but I still wear skate shoes. I still jump on a snowboard and yup...After I am all blistered up, I put my DC's back on. What the fuck else would I wear? Pennyloafers? Hi top Nike's? Just because your taste is for the "classy" doesn't mean all of us feel like we need to dress to impress people. We all wear different shoes for different reasons.

so do not wear skater shoes if you dont skateboard or else you are a poser.

I wear diesels i can guarantee there 1000x more comfortable then an skate shoe.

skated for 7 years... havent been on a board in at least 3 but i still rock skate shoes for my day to day... of course going out is something totally different

in both cases i've never had a problem getting any ladies :D

plus i dont always feel like spending 130 on a pair of nikes when I can get 2 pairs of dvs or somethin for the same price

i do agree on the super wide and thick skate shoes tho, some of them are just WAY too padded / puffy and just ugly... i dont like those

I hear ya... I'm long since retired from skating, but I still snowboard and after playing basketball in my Nike's, I'm all blstered up since I have no caluses left. DC's are padded enough for me to still walk and don't look like hobbit shoes:

dude i will give you that, those are actually pretty tight (although i would not rock them) they dont really look like the average skate shoe, more like a sneaker.

i fucking love d wades shoe for bball, they are intense light and are cut low low style (which i love my legs are big from being a soccer goalie so i dont worry about twisting my ankle)

i got carmello jordans to but i dont wear them on the court cause they are to pretty hehe, ill take a pic of my collection when i get back home on the 22nd.

i see lots of asians wearing diesel, there is to much going on in the shoe imo, i like old school look, unless it has a hip hop angle. the shoes look like they are stuck betwene a dress shoe and a sneaker, kind of in a "no man zone"

i dont really care what fashion people say, anyone can say they are in "fashion industry" it does not actually mean you have good style.

look at that show porject runway for example so many people on that show could barely dress themselves let alone style an oufit for a model.

there is nothing wrong with your shoes, they are just mostly what asians and like you included europeans would wear (i bet you alot of short people wear these shoes because the majority of short people tend to overdress because that is the only way they can stand out)

I was gonna post about how youre full of shit.. but then i realized 90% of shoes made today look like complete crap. Skater shoes included. Even though I used to be big into skating, and still do BMX freestyle, most skate shoes look like shit. So do most other shoes. Pretty much all shoes suck, witha select few that are wearable:P I mostly wear Etnies or DC's for day to day, but its hard to find a pair that doesnt look stupid.

I used to skateboard and bmx, I got into wearing the shoes then because I actually skateboarded.. I still wear them mainly because of the support they offer my feet. I wear addidas skate shoes right now though, they don't look terribly skateboard shoe'ish like the other ones do.. I like the slim line ones not the horrendously puffy ones which you are talking about... I agree those are ugly..

haha i used to skate, had an old school big red skateboard, the day i got it, i got on and started to move, fell on my fatass and haven't been on a skateboard since, i was really into BMX and Inline Skating when i was little, now im to tall and fat for that shit

and they kick ass!
