I could give you a blueprint for any of the businesses I have run and I guarantee, whether you did better or not as well, you wouldn't perform the same. Very rarely does the secret to a successful business lie in the details (although it may be in attention to details).
Nor must you have original ideas. Often a small twist on an existing idea is all it takes.
It's not a secret, but the best advice I could give someone, is to look at his/her own frustrations with products and services and identify where that feeling is shared with plenty of enough other people. Then set out to create a business which answers those negative feelings.
