here in australia last year or early this year there was a "terrorism " law passed , basically the same deal , they can come arrest you hold you with no charge , torture you , killing you wasn't part of the deal
however you are aloud to make one phone call to a relative letting them know that you are ok , but you can't tell them where you are or why you are there otherwise the relative can be thrown in solitary confinement for 5 years
the only lawyer you are aloud to talk to is one that is on the list made up by the government

If the New York Times has published an editorial on a subject, it is a news story. Does posting a link to any of the other articles, like this one, from the same paper, count as a news article? It is amazing to me that a story about the passage of a a major piece of legislation becomes a subject for debate on here. Does anyone here actually read a newspaper?
