Hey Juicy,

Get well soon Bro.

Cyndalie 10-07-2006 11:25 AM

I passed out in a resturant on valentines day once and started convulsing and shit, really awful. I had my hair dyed/foiled that day and had a toxic reaction to the chemicals or something, that culminated over a fondue dinner - heat - not eating - etc...

All they kept asking me was "what did you take?" "what are you on" and shit. I was like NOTHING - I have a hard time even taking Advil - i hate pills. Apparently drugs are the #1 reason people end up in the ER around here.

They wanted to give me and EKG and a brainscan just to run up the bill or some shit - I didnt have insurance so I waived and booked it in scrubs. I was fine but it was scarry. My parents showed up in the ER cause my mom thought I could be pregnant - cause she passed out alot when she was preggy. Anways..

Glad you're ok Juicy!

Oh Juicy coming off Paxil is hell. I did it about four months ago and it will make you sick. After about a week I was so sick I had to go to the ER. The doctor said that Paxil withdrawl is a nightmare but there is nothing they can do to help. It also causes anxiety or panic attacks. Here is a great website to check out the withdrawl symptoms http://www.quitpaxil.info

Actually Paxil leaves your system 21 hours after you stop taking it. You get sick because your body wants the synthetic serotonin the drugs makes. Xanax only lasts about 5-6 hours and then is out of your system. That is why they only use it for short term usage unless you take a high dosage of it.

martinsc 10-07-2006 11:41 PM

get well soon, bro.

baddog 10-07-2006 11:42 PM

You are too young for anxiety dude.

I was on 37.5mg of CR then to 25mg then to 12.5 mg....then i was cutting the 12.5's in half... since it is controlled release i really should nt have been doing that... i stopped the paxil through a wheening process , tbh i have no clue what triggered (well i can think of few things) the event that night...

heart was racing , their was soe mild tightness in chest , this led me to believe it was
"panic attack related"

so i am goos as of know just need to cleanse my body off all the toxins i have been taking in the last few years...

:)

I was stupid and just quit cold turkey. I was on 25mgCR a day. Even if you slowly go off Paxil you will still go through withdrawl. I doubt anything triggered it, the withdrawl can cause panic attacks out of the blue. When I was at the ER the doctor told me he had a man in there earlier that day that was there for Paxil withdrawl too. I guess a lot of people have a hard time getting off of it.

I have panic attacks and that is what they feel like. Your heart will race, it is hard to breathe, your chest will feel tight, sweating, etc. It does feel like a heart attack. If you end up having to take meds, try something like Xanax. It is calming and leaves your body after a few hours.

Xanax is the MOST addicting of all these drugs and if you really wanna see a mess quit Xanax cold turkey - depending on how much Xanax you're on you have to wean yourself off it for weeks.

all of these drugs lead you on a merry go round - look up the term 'rebound anxiety' - after you're off anti-anxiety drugs many people get whammed with 'rebound anxiety' out of the blue.

sharp 10-08-2006 09:34 PM

did you at least get any good pills? :D

Actually Xanax is not the most addictive drug, not even close. Any drug that you take for an extended period of time is going to get addictive. Your body gets used to it and wants it when it is gone. The most dangerous and addictive drugs are the SSRI drugs which are Paxil, Zoloft, Lexapro, etc. They are much harder to come off of then Xanax which is a Benzodiazepine. I have had panic attacks for three years now and I have been on many different kinds of medications. I am speaking from personal experience from coming off many drugs. Paxil is to be the worst of all the SSRI drugs to withdrawl from. If your doctor suggests any of these medications to you, please read up on them. I wish I had done that in the very beginning.

btw i am still a bit out of it atm , going to see my doc tomorrow morning..

i dont expect this to be anything more than a panic attack coupled with being sick the last week and getting off the meds at the same time...
