Juicy D. Links 10-10-2006 01:56 PM

I miss greg also but i caught him cheating on me

Hotrocket 10-10-2006 01:56 PM

Outstanding! :thumbsup
I very much appreciate the position you've taken on this situation. Great to hear from you and to do it in a sticky thread announcement is even better!

and for the sponsors who have been so conspicuously silent on this subject
..see how easy that was?
..see what a positive respose they got for being honest and taking a stance?
..see how they are going to benefit and the silent ones are going to lose?

the clock is ticking...

Thanks again Dating Gold!

media 10-10-2006 02:52 PM

We'll terminate anyone caught or suspected of changing link codes of other affiliates... That is the kind of shit I will not tollerate...

lucky1 10-10-2006 03:02 PM

Great to hear. :thumbsup

I haven't really looked into your program, but after this statement I have. It looks like I will be dropping a certain sponsor that still has not addressed this issue (but posts constantly about how great they are and how they keep hitting record sales) and switching over to your sites.

viva celebs 10-10-2006 03:09 PM

step up and get respect, my traffic is being transfered to you as i speak :thumbsup

jayeff 10-10-2006 03:20 PM

Good to read DG: and a particularly sharp contrast to the lack of response from at least one other well-known dating sponsor.

It is pitiful how few sponsors are willing to take a public stance against the theft of their affiliates' work. In some cases it was predictable because their names come up whenever there is a bad smell, but there are many others from whom I expected more.

Jman 10-10-2006 03:43 PM

Good read Al, great to see people like you around

StarkReality 10-10-2006 04:38 PM

Great to hear, a program that really cares for it's affiliates ! :thumbsup

DatingGold has been a little quiet about this issue in the past, however we would like to state that we do not in any way knowingly purchase or allow inhouse or affiliate traffic that comes from Zango, Spyware or similar sources.

If you do find anyone promoting us in this manner, please do contact us.

We have had the "opportunity" to work with Zango after seeing them at AdTech, however upon reviewing where their traffic comes from, we thought that would be highly unethical to ourselves, affiliates and other sponsors.

We do not feel this is a proper way to run a business, we feel that the only parties who will gain from this kind of marketing is the Network ie. Zango, the Search Engine ie. Google and the Sponsor.

We believe that our affiliates and ourselves work to hard to generate traffic to just turn around and steal it. We also do not feel that this way of doing business is legitimate and we believe there will be liability involved.

My best example of what is happening is the following:

You go to a Chevrolet dealer to buy a truck. Before you get to the door a guy jumps right in front of you and says "Hi I'm Ford, come with me", he grabs your arm and starts pulling you away until you hit him on the X.

This would never happen in the real world because it's pretty much illegal. It shouldn't be happening online.

We encourage affiliates to make better deisions about what kind of companies they want to work. We think companies that allow this kind of marketing have reduced their integrity and are just out to make a quick buck, with total disregard for their affiliates or competitors.

If you have any information that may help us stop this, please contact us.

:2 cents:

Good to hear.

Amen to that.

Here's an idea I just thought of so please don't shoot me if it's not practical.

Someone with a spare computer sets it up with these spyware type programs to test sponsors and and affiliates traffic, for a fee, to see what happens. If the browser is hijacked or cookie over written he records the evidence.

Pity is I do not have the Internet or computer skills.

wargames 10-14-2006 12:52 PM
