if these loser sig posters would actually spend the time they use working instead of posting they could probably make a lot more money. of course this requires them to have a brain, which most of them don't. people like scottyrulez and squishypimp are so pathetic.

I started my first business almost 35 years ago. In 2004 (and since I sold it in 1980 I claim no credit for this) it reported sales of $450 million.

That was also a new industry and I got into it at the tail end of when dealing with competition often meant bricks and petrol bombs through office windows. The antics which go on in this business are tame by comparison.

I have worked in other new industries and the pattern is always depressingly familiar: there is an initial period when anything goes and then finally, people begin to wake up. It is depressing because it isn't until the cowboys are eventually sidelined that real money gets made, yet for some reason, every new industry apparently has to learn that lesson for itself.

I guess it happens because people who never dreamed of serious money get lucky with their timing and none too scrupulously in some cases, find themselves rich (at least by their own standards). More people come aboard and their only interest is quick, easy money too. Ironically it isn't until making money becomes harder that more people begin to look at the business seriously instead of as a chicken to be plucked.

ok, thread felt to 2nd page already where it had a 80% chance to die because noone reads that anymore

Not trying to cast any aspersions on Lars or AFF but I am just wondering if any of these contests that offer over 5k in prizes or cash are following laws regarding contest with respect for disclosures, eligibility, etc.

Seems to me that most of them don't and that makes me wary of them but no denying that they work for pulling in biz.

Also, program owners generally prefer surfer traffic over webmaster traffic since they don't have to split the cash with them. IMO, if you complain about surfers in contest threads then you might as well say that surfers shouldn't be allowed to look at Hot Pic threads...

Maybe not go as fast but your thread will stay on top of the prizes are good...

If I were you, I would hire two "bumpers" in 12 hrs shifts to bump AFF threads all the time, on all boards. No more than 1000$/bumper.:2 cents:

I have a contest but it requires actual sales to win I agree giving away things with no requirement to prove you are a webmasters is bad

it creates shitty promos that dont make any money anyway

Im sorry but what do you do again here?

I'm a proven (although by most definitions fairly n00b) mainstream webmaster with a low level of exposure to adult.

I earn more in a week than you do in 2.5 years whoring your sig. I earn that money because I am clever and because I go the extra mile for my customers when 99% of others do not. I put myself in my customers' shoes and build my business from there. What I don't do is make 5000 useless posts on GFY for diddly squat per post, like some third worlder would do. Like you do.

$300 is about £160. So, you spend hours on GFY every day for your £160 (which, for foreign webmasters, is nothing in the UK) when, if you'd spent your time working, you could have multiplied into £1000 or £3000 or if you were me you could be earning £31200 each month for 4 hours work a day. What a waste of time.

If the "contest" threads were banned, sponsors would be forced to buy Stikies, and GFY could dictate the price (because sponsors would still buy them).

they could auction 2 stickies a month to 2 highest bidders :thumbsup
