Alphared, can you please either comment on my last or contact me on ICQ please. This bitching over and over wont solve the problems for your customers as well as mine.

I checked all bandwidth stats from last month. No special bandwidth increasements or spikes, at least nothing what points to a DDOS. If you have indeed DDOS attachks from our network I want to solve that as well as it might be pretty clear that is abuse for us also

AnneT 11-06-2006 03:22 PM

WTF!!

How is that relevant ?!?!

Post your logs from chats with someone who works at AdultEUHost !!!

Shamefull!

Dunno about big players DF, more like crass idiots and a prewarning to say away from em.

There is no excuse for that conduct, nor is there any excuse why contact cannot be made - it's all bullshit avoidance.

JD 11-06-2006 03:22 PM

he's too busy bitching at me on AIM to contact you. If you'd like I can pass the baby a message for you

split_joel 11-06-2006 03:22 PM

Woah, this is pretty fucking lame. So let me get this straight an attack coming from AdultEU hosting forced you to block them completly? That makes no since, your telling me your handling that much bandwidth and there attack even put a dent in your routers. I smell major bullshit. If you are pulling that much bandwidth it would take one hell of an attack to overload your routers as is. Second off just like any other company you contact them and tell them theres an attack agaist the network. The host then null routes the ips and kicks the customer off then un null routes the ips simple as that. You do not block an entire network unless your up to some shaddy shit.

AdultEUhost 11-06-2006 03:24 PM

The cogent/level3 is different as Level3 de-peered cogent because the traffic ratios on their peering links were out of control (read: level3 sends 1 Gbit to cogent and cogent sends 10Gbit to level3, so basicly cogent is filling the level3 network for their 8usd per mbit prices. It is obvious level3 had to stop that

I'm gonna contact every site owner I possibly can where I buy passes at and make them aware of this situation. I'm pretty sure they are gonna be real pissed at you guys for taking this action.

Again I am not having a go at Orangefiber or Alphared. I'm just trying to do what is best for my business. I'm losing money here and I won't be bullied into switching from Adult EU Host

split_joel 11-06-2006 03:39 PM

Also where is the proff of this attack? I have seen non, no logs, no complaints where is this so called attack? When and where? If it did happen why did you not contact the host? These are valid questions.

Or here let me use this as an example

"Hi I am the new Spamhaus, we do not like AdultEU Hosting, so lets see what we can do about this.

Lets SBL the entire AdultEU network, although we have no complaints, have no logs, have no nothing, but lets go ahead and do it anyways. "

Come on you say your a hudge network and that you need to look out for your entire network. Show some fucking proff, do something because right now you look like the most pathedic network ever.

Bump for AdultEU. Hope it works out.

gooddomains 11-06-2006 03:40 PM

Funny how other hosting companies are posting in this thread as well....

AnneT 11-06-2006 03:46 PM

Yeah we need proof or nobody will ever take Orangefibre seriously.

Seems like a cynical and aggresive attack on a new competitor.

Well we all may fight for the next person to host but anyone knows this is a joke. There up to some shaddy shit and in my eyes adulteu has done nothing wrong.

squishypimp 11-06-2006 03:50 PM

thats very sad, sounds like this orangefiber company is holding customers hostage.

AnneT 11-06-2006 04:04 PM

If this is an attempt to scare ppl into moving back to Ideal/Orange/Alphared, well it's not working. I won't go anywhere near them and I'll tell everyone I know to do the same.

MSV - are you going to follow large clients and block whichever host they chose to go with?

Nismo 11-06-2006 04:10 PM

note to self: never host with orange fiber.

they seem like a bunch of kids trying to run a business.

AdultEUhost 11-06-2006 04:25 PM

I went back to the office to solve this once and for all, it is in both our interest (adulteuhost and idealbw/alphared) to solve this.

I am still not able to contact you, once again can you please contact me?

I am glad to report that the blocking has stopped and the connectivity between AdultEUhost and Alphared is fully restored.

Customers still experiencing problems can contact our NOC to look into this.

A representative of Alphared will post here also shortly. Customers of them still experiencing problems are advised to contact Alphared NOC.

wdsguy 11-06-2006 05:30 PM

Good thing I got my galleries off alphared. Its ran by a buncha kids.

GFY Board Members,

Let me explain to both hosting companies customers what happened in this situation.

Our network is protected by an intrusion detection system that protects our network from attacks, port scans, and other malicious activity from other networks on the Internet.

Late last week, thresholds put in place for ASN 30913 were exceeded and that network was thus null routed until it could be investigated. Because ASN 30913 has less than a 200 Mbps normal effect on our network, we classified this as a single attack source.

In the past there have been multiple attacks to our network from a broad range of IP addresses on ASN 30913 that, though our network is capable of sustaining, brought down individual targeted servers. The attacks were progressive in nature using multiple IP that would change. Directly following the attack, the owners of the servers were contacted by other hosting companies soliciting business.

It is absurd for anyone to suggest that we did this to specifically disallow customers of AdultEUhost to access our network. Our customers pay us for full connectivity to the Internet and that is what we provide. Furthermore, we are paid to insure that their servers are protected from intrusion, and that is what we did in this case.

I have personally talked to Leon of AdultEUHost, and he has assured me that he will investigate such attacks personally. He also gave me his word that such attacks are not being initiated by any staff member of AdultEUHost.

I have thus removed the block of ASN 30913 from ASN 19166 and traffic should be back to normal between the two networks.

I apologize to any member of this board that was negatively affected by this action, but it is necessary in cases to insure our customer’s server safety.

James McCreary
CEO, Alpha Red INC

Good to see this is all sorted out. Congrats to James and Leon for handling this like adults. James is a stand up guy and runs his company with every effort to help anyone needing it. Nice talking to you again tonight James

Hopefully see you soon buddy :)

Kudos also to Leon for being able to sort this out with James. Leon is the man!

Let it be clear that this is not the case.

Everything is now solved as said before with Alphared in good harmony. Both companies have no hard feeling against each other. Thanks again James for solving this. Next show I will buy you a beer.

Adulteuhost rocks

AnneT 11-07-2006 03:06 AM

Good work people :)

Sales and traffic are rocking again. I'm glad common sense prevailed :)

GoNe 11-07-2006 03:36 AM

Happy that you could work it out. I though wonder for how long was the block in place?

About a week, I'd guess. I can't beleive what a difference it's made since it's been lifted (and before it started).
