From what I've read, it does seem like a lack of respect. When someone you've been with decides to start something with a friend of yours and someone you know, it's a real rough spot to be in. If the individual truly cared about you, they wouldn't want to hurt you like that. It does show the type of "friends" that you hung out with and I can understand your bitterness toward the profession. That is my :2 cents: on the matter.
