what is truly funny is that they let the credit cards run for 13 months after the guy died. Wouldn't that be something that would be done fairly early in the settling of an estate, to close down and pay off any outstanding debts?

I smell a rat here.

did you check your server logs to see if the password had been used between now and then ? because there are tutorials around on how to get free porn using scams like the letter you mentioned..
