I am new to this...been hanging around the forum trying to learn stuff. Now my aim is to start up a nice TGP. Learn the ins and out and then eventually start a paysite.
Will love to learn stuff from you.... you are my idol :)

Hi SexyKat. Your reply made my day. Thanks. It's always a pleasure to help those that are willing to learn. A large reason we have succeeded the way we have is thanks to people that were willing to spend the time and answer our questions when we were first getting started.

Any questions you have feel free to hit up myself or any of our crew. We'd be more then happy to help you out.

I had (and still have) a mainstream site that I was spinning my wheels on for a couple of years. Then one day I got it wrote up in the media (big publication, nationwide). Traffic poured in and the site became super popular. That was almost two years ago and my traffic has never went down since then, not because I sat on it and "enjoyed the success" but because I never stopped pushing the site, never stopped trying to exchange links, never stopped checking up and never stopped trying to get one more user to sign up and start using the site.

Bookmarked this thread for when I have more time to read instead of skim, but lots of good ideas here. Thanks for posting.

Great experience Minus. I had a similar one with a free site of ours. Many years ago a link trade of ours (Wifey's World) was featured on Dateline. We got 50,000 hits in one night from them. Instead of sitting back and doing nothing i worked my ass off that whole night working link trades. Result was thanks to that one night the traffic on our site went to 17,000 to a sustained 100,000 a day over a few weeks.

I know that when he posts "we" you were as much a part of that as anyone. ;) Us ladies need acknowledgement too, and you're an inspiration to many of us, Beth :)

Nice post

Shap, that was an excellent post. You could plug any business into that mind set (and it IS a mind set) and it would work. If someone were to ask me why NationalNet was so successful, it would be many of the same things you listed.

I was looking at your bandwidth graph and it's risen every month since you've been with us. The cool part is that the sales graph you included in this post rose higher and faster than the bandwidth graph each month, which speaks volumes about your business model!

There are those that "get it" and those that don't. Shap is one of those that absolutely "gets it" :thumbsup

Secret #11 We set out and continue to create something of value.
Our industry isn?t known for it?s originality or its content value, for the most part. Take BangBros for example. They came up with original ideas that deliver quality content but for the most part, there are not many sites out there like BBros. What always happens after a good idea comes along is a huge caravan of companies that jump on the bandwagon and copycat everything. They do it exactly the way BangBros does and they do it without a single spark of their own identity. This is no way to run a business. These companies are relying on BangBros? ideas for their success. Why not rely on yourself for your own success? Take the time to build something of value that you came up with on your own. Put your heart and soul into it and be proud of it. Give it your own personal edge. Having one good quality site can be worth more than 40 mediocre sites ?and far more rewarding.

WORDS OF WISDOM THERE!!!!!

When we created nubiles.net we were inspired by FTV but if you look at our site it looks nothing like and is nothing at all like their site. If you look at our site compared to other multi girl sites like Karups or Atk you see that each site is very unique and different. I get tired of seeing how many rip offs of met-art there are, and I get tired of the people who have completely ripped off the layout, design, or name of my site. I'm not going to mention names because many are considered "stand up" guys here.

What is ironic is that the people who rip off sites stand to earn so much less by copying someone else's business model than if they were to create their own unique of site of value.

Hi Shap,

It's a great post. When you say to do something out of ordinary with TGPs, what do you mean by that?
Thank you.

Hi Webmaster2006, great question.
If you visit 100 tgps right now you'll see what i mean. Go to 10 thumb tgps and you'll see they are all almost 100% the same. Same look with a slightly different design. No personality. Same with non thumb tgps. Everything looks the same.

Then you have a very very small group of people that actually work their asses off to create something unique and useful. Perfect example is FreeOnes.com. Their site is nothing like the other sites out there. It's unique. Useful. Has personality. Gives the surfer a great reason to bookmark.

That's what i mean by different. When a surfer hits your site have it be different enough from other sites that you stand out. Add quality to that and that will give you the chance to build a brand and a powerful successful site.

Thank you for your reply. I am totally new to this business. When I look at their TGPs for me as surfer they look OK. The size as kind of small. Althogh, they are clean and easy to read and see. That is what you mean unique or the models themselves? I am just trying to learn from you. Thank you.

Great thread, here's a question :)
At which point did you go fully with exclusive content, and how did that affect your sales/rebills? I see that you guys started with matrix stuff, and you have great exclusive content now, somewhere I read that your traffic/income increased alot after installing an affiliate script (might be the other thread) - are these dates close to each other? (starting exclusive and bringing affiliates)

Shap amazing...

Shap amazing take on a real business in the real world! I came from the mortgage business where I owned a mortgage company for 15 years and at one point I had almost 100 employees, doing business in 21 states, where customer service is number one and you help people/families recognize the "American Dream" homeownership!

Well I sold my mortgage company in May of 06 to get into this business full time and I believe there is a huge opportunity in this industry if you run it like a real business as you stated.

I believe that 2007 will be our best year yet and because of you and your advise it will be even better!

Thanks again and keep the advise coming....
