Cingular's 2G network (EDGE) is faster than Sprint's 2G network. IIRC Sprint's 1xRTT averages 50-70kbps, where I usually get 115k-150k with EDGE.
I can't get EVDO or UMTS where I live, so I just gotta deal with it.
Regarding the push account.. Cingular's Blackberry Personal Plan is $29.99 for unlimited as long as you don't need to use a Blackberry Enterprise Server. I'd bet money that the unlimited plan on the iPhone will be the same $39.99 you pay on a Treo/Blackjack, etc.
