Norton is the WORST offender for system resource hogging... I use AVG Free, and haven't looked back. Of course, I'm also enjoying using nothing on my mac, but for PC, you can't go wrong with AVG.

AVG free edition.
Beacuse it doesn't slow down my laptop like Norton or Avast.

I use Avast and haven't had any problems. Except having my speakers up one time when it found a virus. That will wake you up for sure.

Had Norton, dropped it for BitDefender.. Can't say I am very happy with it. Great advice thread. Might have to change it out.
