Regardless of how much he sent out, a significant percentage of it comes from supporting content theft and admittedly using spyware to steal affiliate signups.

We all have our morals, our ethics, our line so to speak. And when we feel our line has been crossed, we speak out. This is trait of human kind, it's not unique to the adult industry. No matter where you look, you'll see people speaking out against injustice, theft, etc.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't make a killing in adult, since I don't apply myself anywhere near as fully as I could. But I'm comfortable with the money I make as well as how I make it. I take pride in the fact that I don't use shady tactics to increase my revenue.

Wizzo, you mentioned your lawyers. Have you ever successfully sued anyone for stealing your content? Have you ever even tried?

I pulled all my links from Cams.com which Lars is associated with. My AFF links were pulled long before the Zango drama because they simply weren't making me as much as other programs.

I'm fully aware how easily I could make bushels of cash with Zango. I consciously choose not to. That's where I draw my line.

You are a better person than most ... including myself. AFF states in their TOS that they have the right to close an account if it stops sending traffic.
I assume most people are on the percentage program and would not risk losing their recurring income from this. Were you on their recurring or PPS program?

Like I said, it's a matter of morals and ethics. You have yours, I have mine. I simply choose not to do business with a company that admits to stealing from people I do business with and people who are friends of mine.

I was recurring. But my recurring dried up long before this drama. In fact, probably even before Lars was at AFF. I never sent much traffic to AFF because there's stuff out there that converts better.

It doesnt sound like you had a lot riding on your ethics. Please dont get me wrong, I totally understand where you are coming from. My point was that out of all the keyboard warriors that post here huffing and puffing about AFF, I doubt that many of them do anything other than jump on the bandwagon for sig placement.

I'm glad you spoke up Wizzo as I was just about to. Lars is one of the smartest business men in the entire business he has made people MILLIONS! I think people in this industry have short memories and I guess everyone is only as good as their last paycheque.

He has spent well over 7 figures with us and we truly appreciate his business.

DH

whinny bitch who still makes a lot of money if that counts for anything.

yeah and I wonder how much he has made off of your customers....

Think about it, spyware is rampit on p2p, hell even bear share makes you download zango before you can use it. You sell traffic to people who Lars steals it from by using zango. But yet because he spends 7 figures with you you think he is top notch and the fact he steals should be forgotten because he spends so much money with YOU.

He has never made me a penny. He has cost me money though. Why the fuck should i care if he had made you money, what does that have to do with anything. You make a blanket statement that doesn't apply to very many people.

Sad, your whole post could have been summed up with

SO DH, do you think your customers make less than they could because some of the traffic you sell them is intercepted by spyware.

honest question.

No in all seriousness I like Lars as a person and really enjoy our conversations when we meet up at shows. I just think Lars has been strung up as a crucifixition in this industry and it's sad to see... Aff has thrown so many parties, sponsored so many functions and threw what 2 Playboy Mansion Parties and gave away a fucking ferrari?? LOL!

I think there are much worse people in the industry that should be up on the gfy martyr slab than Lars. Lars in my opinion is one of the GOOD guys in the industry, fuck I could name alot worse that do nothing but rape and pillage our industry.

DH

What a fucking moron.

What a fucking moron.

one more time, what a fucking moron.

so because he threw parties and ran contest and sponsored functions you think that offsets stealing from everyone here ?

What a fucking dumb ass thing to say and to think for that matter.

LIKE ? please do share. Who that posts on GFY is doing worse than what AFF does. Their sites have tons of stolen content, using scumware to steal sales, they allow people on password trading sites to promote them....

Name 1 person who posts on GFY that does worse than them.... please share.

V_RocKs 03-20-2007 01:04 AM

AFF are corporate assholes now...

I move that Sleazy remove their Ambush Interviews...

Ohh wait... Sleazy is corporate too...

Well, I guess he is perfect for the state of the industry then.

While it's commendable to want to defend one's friend, there are some instances when you'd be doing that friend a far bigger service by telling him that what he is doing is wrong. It's also nice to speak up about the money you've made from that friend, but so too is it obvious that we'd all be making a lot MORE money if that friend and others like him weren't supporting those that steal cash directly out of our pockets. Anyone that truly understands the Zango business model would know this and agree.

Maybe those defending their old friend and their wonderful client with deep pockets are the true whiners here, if there has to be whiners at all that is. The malodorous stench of asskissing is certainly present. For it is they who choose to ignore the theft that is going on right under their own noses and instead throw ridicule and insults at those who are merely voicing their protest against said thievery, or to use an even better word... scumbaggery, all the while praising the thieves as being captains of the industry and buyers of many drinks and much partying. Incredible, yet incredibly transparent.

Yes, it becomes scumbaggery when your old friend, that great guy who has spent gazillions with you on advertising or sent cheques to you that only a large dumptruck could carry, chooses to support companies that by their very nature steal from all of us (including you), all the while basically laughing it off and ignoring the concerns of affiliates.

I'm not singling anyone out in particular but I would hazard a guess that Lars takes the lion's share of the heat because the company he represents is at the top of the heap as being named one of the worst offenders of supporting the zangos of the world. There are certainly others who are on that offenders list with him... http://www.zangoblacklist.com/

That being said, I'm sure of two things: the seminar will be packed.

And life will go on.

Wow what a thread.

Just wanted to put my 2c in here. With re to wizzo's standpoint, has anyone thought that just maybe they've put out their content on these sites? His stance on it suggests to me that it's just a form of branding for them.

The only way AFF finds out is because someone on AFF posts a big thread condemning them for receiving traffic from the password trader.

DH

:1orglaugh :1orglaugh ....that could work if it wasnt for the fact AFF is well aware of some of the torrent/nfo/content leeching sites that push them for months!

AFF funding the piracy of BangBrosOnline content - http://www.btmon.com/torrent/bang%20bros

AFF funding the piracy of New Sensations content - http://www.btmon.com/Porn/Unsorted/J...s.torrent.html

and we all know about shooshtime
http://www.shooshtime.com/

and of course, how could they not fund the stealing of paysite passwords also
http://www.ultrapasswords.com/

Next year will we have "How to maximize your advertising dollar - presented by Zango, Inc."?

Ultrapasswords is 100% sponsor driven.
Those passwords come directly from the sponsor
they are beefed up tours and sometimes 'real' members area that sell the SHIT out of stuff

so ultrapasswords is really not providing "stolen" passwords

i only attend seminars that are about things like billing where the billing companies tell you how to better utilize your accounts and such.

Maybe so... but The State of the Industry is not about traffic secrets and I enjoyed last years seminar. Some panels about traffic and building free sites offer some very basic information though which I feel is for new comers.
