Because anyone that would ask such an idiotic question obviously isnt a true American. Revoke your citizenship already, good riddance.

Listen.. you're a little quick to judge:

1. I merely asked the question.. you don't know this is about me.
2. I haven't posted how i would answer the question... just asked it of others.

Suggesting that asking a question is unAmerican feels a little Fascist.

If I was a Yank i'd take the money too - i'm an aussie but i'd easy trade off for the $ - as long as could take my kid with me - it's good commercial value before the US$ declines further - lets ALL go to AMSTERDAM!!!!!!!!!

or Slovenia - (Slovenia is my tip)

It appears most people in this thread have not lived outside the USA and/or do not have a million dollars.

I have the money and I have lived outside the USA. There are very, very few places in the world that are even worth considering. Believe me... I have tried.

Try this and let me know your results...

First go here and make a list of "Free Nations":
http://www.thefreedomball.org/freedom-map.html

Now:

1. Remove all the 3rd world nations from the list.

2. Remove all nations with a tax rate higher than 40%

3. Remove all places that it snows (or rains) for more than 6 months of the year. (Snow people need not post their rant... Quality of life and mental state are killed by shit weather - FACT). Bitter/Arctic cold months can be included in the 6 months.

4. Remove all nations that have had their current form of government in place for less than 20 years.

#1 and #4 are based on in depth research on issues such as these.

#1 is where people usually run to who have a little and sometimes a lot of cash. The 3rd world for 1st worlders is a place to hide, run, or escape to. Drugs, whores, corruption, etc etc. It gets old after a couple of years.

The 3rd world is cheap... but with that cheap you get: corruption, infectious disease, financial crises, coups, poor health care, narco states, lack of services, 1/2 capitalists, etc etc.

----

#4 is an interesting one. The most recent examples are the former Soviet Republics and Tito's Yugoslavia. The wall fell in 1991 and we are now on year 16. There are only a couple I would live in and I would only live in the major cities...

VeriSexy 03-20-2007 11:02 PM

I bet majority would in a heart beat

warlock5 03-20-2007 11:04 PM

Some of us would save $1 million in taxes the first year of not being a US citizen..

Yep. We'll include all of you in the 'definitely not' category, otherwise you already would have. :thumbsup

Funny, I was just having a conversation with one of my lawyers today about Bulgaria and the rampant corruption there. Oddly enough, my point of view is that corruption is GREAT when it works for you and not against you. If you know the right people in a lot of those 3rd world countries, you should have a great time.

pornguy 03-20-2007 11:10 PM

Lots of people have no idea how good it is to have that US passport.

Can move anywhere in the world.. but must renounce US citizenship, and obtain residency/citizenship of other country- permanently.

Max 30-days annual visitation to US.

Yes, from the outside I can see where it seems great. Wait until they grow tired of you and the payments required keep escalating. Soon it escalates to violence... what do you do when the police are the ones shaking you down?

It is like prison. The first time you take it in the ass you are doomed to be fucked until you finally kill someone.

As for "knowing" the right people... trust me on this... You are not from there, you do not speak the same language, or have the same culture. Their loyalty to you will disappear very, very quickly and you are just another outsider they fucked. There is no honor amongst thieves.

Bulgaria will open your eyes if you ever try to do something there.

Nysus 03-20-2007 11:36 PM

People that would answer No to this haven't been outside the USA..
