I'd go with my two DSLRs.

I don't know if I'm surprised or disappointed to see no one has mentioned a digital camera.

without my ipod taking a shit just wouldn't be the same.

Hmmm, I have a high end DSLR but to be honest I didn't even consider it. Came up with this instead:

2Gb flash, bluetooth, wifi, GPS (including carkit and nav software). Most importantly, it fits in my pocket. :)

You probably think this song is about YOU, don't you...

Guess that separates the pros with a passion for what they do - from the rank amateurs.

Jakke PNG 04-06-2007 07:47 AM

My nintendo DS...taking a shit without it would be like driving without a seatbelt.

kirupai 04-06-2007 07:48 AM

My Macbook, shit I dont know what I would do without it.

I was told this would happen to me by the pros I know before I became a pro . . they were right. I seldom ever shoot for fun anymore and I became a shooter for the fun of it too :(

As said earlier - it comes down to the passion for photography.

Hobby photography (non-commercial) provides the freedom and latitude for experimentation and creativity which often carries over in to new techniques and approaches in pro shoots.

If I were to lose my passion for shooting "fun" (read: personal/hobby) photos, I'm quite sure my professional work would also suffer.

And I'd take that as a hint that perhaps it was time to pack it in and find a new vocation.

then again maybe you weren't disabled at 45 with a family to feed? one thing you obviously 'need' to learn about photography is that you never really know the circumstances another shooter faces . . I learned this when I was lighting 6 hrs of live news 5 days a week in the # 2 market . . .

I fail to understand what this digression has to do with my comparatively simple statement that I consider my camera as my favorite bit of technology.

You have your circumstances in life - I have mine.

Its too bad you're apparently working at something you evidently don't enjoy.

I'd like to say my TV, but at the moment it's my new Berkel deli meat slicer:

yep, getting bj's from 18-20 year old hotties is a total bummer . . . I wish I were dead :( . . and actually I'm working very hard at something I enjoy very much and hope to be back to shooting fun in the near future :)
