yes, simply because I have had that number since I moved to the UK and I don't want to lose it since there are some people that would have it as their only way of getting in contact with me. Plus, VOIP isn't as developed here..if I was in the States I probably wouldn't have a landline.

We have vonage, and I have been toying with the notion of just going to our cell phones. But something about that idea makes me uneasy.

Not sure why, as we generally have good cell service. Probably just the psycho in me. I had a hard enough time switching to vonage. This nagging thought of 'what if we really are in the Matrix' wouldn't go away for the longest time. :)

I have mine but its more so other people can call me I guess. Most of my friends call my cell fone but my family call my landline.

I don't think I'd ever get rid of my home phone line because of 2 main reasons, first off, like others, the reception is bad and I'm not sure it's gonna ever get better because I'm in a small town, kinda at a dead end part of the state, surrounded by water, so why would they invest in more towers for this area, and secondly, I work from home, so I'm at home most of the time, so there's really no sense to only have a cell phone.

I even thought of a 3rd reason to have a home line. If you're married with kids and wanted to call home, how would you do it if you only had a cell phone ?? I suppose the answer to that question would be that every family member in the house would need to have a cell phone.

phone wise I only use a home phone
it is cheaper than a cell or both and when I am out I do not need to have a phone bothering me anyways
I like my freedom.

We only have one incase our cell phones go out for some reason. No one ever calls us on it except the wife's parents.

I have one at home and I only use it when I need to phone my grandparents because they never use mobiles, they say that is to complicated for them..... it really could be since they are in their 80's I guess!!!
