Peoples links dont just "dissapear" from old submitted tgp galleries, galleries that get indexed in search engines, freesites that were submitted a while back, blog entries that are indexed in search engines, etc. the list goes on. Traffic will still trickle in from many places and it will go straight to your new tgp.

On the contrary, your affiliates are telling you that rather than closing down your site (which would screw your affiliates), just stop updating your site with new content and start rotating your current content.
