Even a blog would be less work that doing a tgp.

Yeah, I'm at a loss as to why she would shut it down.
I'm no big player, but all my sites earn money... I would never take one down. That's like shutting off a cash stream. Why do that? |

Well... I wish Deb luck, at least she invited people to bitch at her if they felt the need. If she's done, she's done - there are worse ways to go out.

This just shows the difference between a hobby and a business.

I found it interesting that here there is more concern for affiliates than there is for the actual customers of the site.

In cases such as this the well-being of the affiliate goes hand-in-hand with that of the surfer/member. Keeping the affiliates happy by keeping the site and program up also keeps the site going for members, both existing and new. And rotating in the archived content a portion at a time over the course of a year, either monthly or bi-weekly, keeps the members happy by giving them something new to look at but it also keeps affiliates happy because they stand a better chance of sustaining rebills. And it doesn't take much work to do it. But yes, sure, the first concern here is to the affiliates, because it is they who have invested thousands of hours collectively into promoting a site like deb's, have built 1000's of pages, galleries, text & banner links on untold amounts of pages etc, paid for bandwidth to promote her, so damn straight that it's a cause for concern. Not to mention the fact that this has happened with many solo girl sites before this, and I'm sure many here are sick of these girls who arbitrarily up and quit out of the blue and leave their affiliates to twist in the wind. It takes time to build an income stream this way, the loss of it isn't something to pass off with a "good luck to ya" and a wave goodbye. |

Deb:
According to Yahoo there are 7369 external pages linking to debsdeepthroat.com. I had a quick look and all had a 2257 direct link to your site so it's possible that Yahoo is NOT counting the links via refer.ccbill.com (which is a redirect to your site), so the actual number may be higher. I can't imagine that after being in this business for 7-8 years that you could honestly think that it was fair and professional to close down an established site such as yours in such a short time. That doesn't even give most members enough time to complete the membership they've paid for, which could result in some "surprise" billing transactions in the near future. Some people have suggested rotating your content but here's another idea: turn it into an archive only site. State clearly on the tour and join page that it's not updated, and reduce the monthly price accordingly (or don't rebill at all). Yeah, that's still pissing off the affiliates that took the time to create ways to promote you, but at least they don't lose *everything* they've worked for. At the very least I believe you should set up a script that recognises certain referers (ie your affiliate's domains) and redirects to a URL of their choice. Placing a TGP onto a paysite domain with thousands of affiliate links is definitely Not On. |
fuck whats fair, do what you want everyone else does in this biz and they're all stand up top notch people and throw an AFF popup over your tour while youre at it
|
Oh, please don't :(
I have a blog based on your content and lots of galleries (90% of them listed on thehun)... At least leave it the way it is for 6-12 months or sell it. :( :( :( |
sell the site and all the content. Let someone else deal with it. Take one last huge paycheck from it and move on.
Sounds like a way out where your just done with it. |

ok,
After serious thought about your posts...insults too, this is what I am thinking....Having someone else take over the site, a NEW debsdeepthroat so to speak, a new fresh younger face while all content stays in the members area as an archive along with the new girls stuff....that way any links old and new will still be good...This seems like a much better idea than a tgp out with the old in with the new sorta thing |
edit because deb said something.
*and yes, that is way better idea. |

Now that's a great idea, would be a real waste of quality traffic if you send them to free porn.
|
You take over the webmaster stuff and let your husband start sucking cock. You can register debshusbanddeepthroats.com :-)
|
$ days is too short notice , many sites will still have promo on their site linking to you. YOU will harm them by having it send to a tgp. Just allow the traffic to flow a few weeks and then take the site off. YOu will be making some money from the signups and the recurring transactions...just my 2ccc
What will you be doing with all that content? |
