who watched the 1st buf/ny game? didnt it seem weird? although i did not watch the NY/atl series, it seemed to me that NY was SLEEPING, not trying hard and losing (opposite Van and NJ who played hard and lost). but sleeping and losing.

that concerns me.
could NY wake up? or is that not an issue to worry about?

Wow.

Just... wow.

Did not expect that from a loyal Sabres fan. :D

Sens are well-coached, I must say. They definitely have as much chance as anyone and better than some to make it to the final and take it all.

Never thought 6 weeks ago I'd be saying that.

they sure are well coached.
remember, they have made it into the playoffs 10seasons straight. they sure know how to play hard and they got the scars to prove it.

but, just physical play wont make it far :warning

If NJ takes tomorrow night's game at home and then steals one in Ottawa I just might agree with you.

CDSmith 04-27-2007 06:41 PM

Why do the retard Sabres fans keep booing every time Jagr touches the puck?

??

NJ over Sens in 6

I agree but Buffalo just blew that theory to hell tonight. Zubrus and crew played some hard hitting hockey and pulled out a win after playing like shit for 50 minutes. Go Sabres!

Its just a portion of the arena that does that shit. I go to a good 50% of the games myself. It seems like the drunks in the cheap seats like to boo the opposing teams star or anyone that took a cheap shot on a Sabre in the past. They do it to Ovechkin, Satan, Heatley, Chara, etc.

If you are a player on the other team that is getting booed at the HSBC arena you know you made it in the NHL.

We aren't all retards though. They are probably just drunk. :)

Yeah I didn't mean all Sabres fans are retards, ha ha.

There are retard fans in every arena. :D

Good first period for Vancouver. Any time they can get out of the 1st in a tie it's good news for them.

CDSmith 04-27-2007 09:00 PM

1 - 1 after the second.

Canucks have a chance to take this one, they're actually playing quite well.

Varius 04-27-2007 09:02 PM

I predict Getzlaf buries a game-winner tonight in OT against the Canucks :upsidedow

CDSmith 04-27-2007 10:58 PM

CANUCKS WINNNN!!!!

I don't know how that shot went in.

quiet 04-27-2007 11:08 PM

fuck yeah.

viroman 04-28-2007 01:35 AM

BUFFALO 2-0 2nd game was hard for sabres tonight..

flashfire 04-28-2007 01:45 AM

Canucks fluke out big time...nice goal

Van won.
i cant believe it! when shit like that happens it makes me wonder if i know _anything_ about hockey.
the game was blocked here in vegas so i couldnt see.

when i move back to buffalo maybe we'll go to some games together :thumbsup

CDSmith 04-28-2007 08:58 AM

All I can say is Canucks better capitalize on the home ice advantage they're about to enjoy.

As for today's games...

Sharks @ Detroit -- I'm going to say the wings rally and win this one to tie the series.

Senators @ New Jersey -- it would be nice for Ottawa to grab this one as well, then head back for their home games. Either way I think this is the game to watch. I say the Devils win it by one overtime goal.

No with Luongoal in net and Slowpel on the blueline. Ducks in 5.

Luongo played a spectacular game last night.

Funny play on words, but that guy is keeping that team together. How can you have so many powerplays and spend the whole time your own zone. :disgust

Exactly. I think some people see the same game through clouded eyes or something.

Without Luongo last night the score would have been drastically different.

Sean 04-28-2007 11:31 AM

the sharks will need to get more shots on net today

Damn I'm on a roll lately.

I should be betting heavy. :D

Furious_Male 04-28-2007 06:03 PM

NJ is looking good early on 2-0 after 1. They are tough to beat when they have the lead.

CDSmith 04-28-2007 06:22 PM

Now in the 2nd Ottawa is coming on like gangbusters.

2-1

This is a great game so far.

CDSmith 04-28-2007 07:33 PM

THAY SCORRRRRRE!!!!!!

Ottawa ties the game with SECONDS left! :D

quiet 04-28-2007 07:34 PM

holy shit what a goal! 27 seconds left! beautiful pass.

CDSmith 04-28-2007 08:22 PM

Beautiful beautiful overtime. :D

2nd OT coming up.

Furious_Male 04-28-2007 08:29 PM

Both teams look like they are skating in mud. No legs left.

Are you and I watching the same game? They are flying out there.

Look at that goal, holy shit.

Series tied!

Damn that was a great game. And I called it. I really should be betting on these games dammit. :D

Flying haha hardly.

You have to remember I watch a team with 4 fast lines all season long ;) .

Great finish though. Drag this series out longer now.

CDSmith 04-28-2007 09:04 PM

That was some fast paced end to end hockey there.

Some of the best OT I've seen in a while. Although they lost tonight I have new respect for Ottawa.

you called it???
i see how you are.

fuzzylogic 04-29-2007 03:27 AM

so what predictions do we have for sunday?

seems sure that Buf will take a 3-0 lead.

the Anh-Van game was blacked out here. did Van put a defensive clamp-down on the 2nd game or was just the goalie good?

Can't call it much closer than that. And I posted it 8 hours before the game started.

So yes, I called it.

Now do you see how I am? :D

CDSmith 04-29-2007 07:42 AM

Today's games --

If the Rangers are going to take one game it will probably be this one. But in all likelyhood Buffalo is going to go up 3 games to nil. I say they win 4-1.

Ducks @ Vancouver: I think that the Canucks got a wakeup call in game 1 with that 4-1 loss, and they rallied in game 2. They workhorsed the ducks and yes, with Luongo's goaltending managed to salvage one win on the road. If they don't relax even a little at home they have a chance to win today, but I'm going to say the Ducks win this one 5-3.

CDSmith 04-29-2007 01:47 PM

Wow, Rangers showing some life today. 1-1 after 3.

Now for more sweet sweet overtime. :D

fuzzylogic 04-29-2007 01:55 PM

the NHL package is da bomb

CDSmith 04-29-2007 02:36 PM

Damn this is great hockey.

Still 1-1 after one overtime. Too bad I have to go meet some people for dinner, I'm going to miss the ending to this one. :(

Rangers are not making it easy for them.

fuzzylogic 04-29-2007 03:21 PM

Bflo had an upswing in mid of 2nd. the tired NY were allowing more open ice for bflo to skate with. things were looking good. then a screened shot from the point sent bflo packing for next game :/

fuzzylogic 04-29-2007 03:38 PM

bflo played too nice and reactionary to NY.

ny seemed tired in OT

both OT's were not very exciting at all.

quiet 04-29-2007 05:02 PM

van game starts right away... stoked :)

CDSmith 04-29-2007 06:03 PM

Nice tying goal in the final minutes of the 1st period. I missed Anaheim's goal.

2nd period coming up... :D

Varius 04-29-2007 06:58 PM

C'mon Ducks, fight the Van crowd, lame penalties and just play a rock-solid 3rd and you take home ice back :)

For those who want to see the game but can't you can watch it on SopCast: http://www.sopcast.com/download it's on right now, CBC feed, on channel name "NHL 3".

Varius 04-29-2007 07:19 PM

Thank you Corey Perry! 3-2 Ducks.

Ducks 2-for-4 on PP, Nucks 1-for-8. That's the bottom line of the game.

Spunky 04-29-2007 07:23 PM

What a boring game..Canucks can't buy a break

Moraxian 04-29-2007 07:39 PM

The Devils and Sens are *both* solid teams and both too good for that series to be a short series.

The Rangers barely got a win today to get that series to 2-1, and it will probably serve as a wake-up call to the Sabres. The Sens and Devils have more OT waiting for them... I think the Sens are likely to win, but if they do, they'll face a Sabres team that is in good shape.

Anaheim just won, to go up 2-1. Sharks got what they needed in Detroit in getting one of the two games....

I thought it was a great game actually. Good 2-way action. Some spectacular hits near the end. At times the Canucks really came on strong and were all over them but couldn't buy a goal.

The penalties were insane there for a while, on both sides.

Too bad Vancouver didn't capitalize more in the 1st period, I thought they played their best hockey then. If they played like that for all 3 periods they'd be pretty hard to beat for any team.

CDSmith 04-30-2007 12:30 PM

Two more games on tonight. Enough with the lame drama, it's time to talk HOCKEY.

Devils @ Ottawa --- series tied 1-1... first home game of the series for the Sens. I say they win this one.

Sens 4
Devs 3

Red Wings @ San Jose --- series tied 1-1... I'll say Sharks win tonight's game.

Sharks 3
Wings 2

There it is. :D
