If it does come to a Sens-Sabres semi I'll say Ottawa takes it in 7.

I like the way Ottawa is playing.

sorry, but NJ is much better team thats adaptable to opposition. Sens are one-side meaning they have only one playing style - physical. As NJ changed their playing style from the regular season to defeat TB, they will do the same and defeat the Sens as well.

i completely agree.
there are two reasons why Van is in the 2nd round.
Goalie
Coach

the Ducks are stronger than both Dallas and Van combined. Dallas and Van are better teams overall, but the Ducks have way stronger individual players that in one-on-one matches will over whelm Van.

i dont think Van will win a single game.

cheers!

lol easy shots are easy saves. sure, he make 72 saves as he should have. need i remind u that those were 72 saves against an average to poor dallas offense?

ditto!
think NY will wake up for game 2 against Bflo? it looked like they were sleeping! :1orglaugh

CDSmith 04-27-2007 12:15 PM

Tonight's games --

Rangers @ Buffalo
Canucks @ Anaheim

Any predictions?

I'm thinking Sabres by 3
And the Canucks may take this one, by 2.

Not true from what I saw in game 1. NJ will have to get their heads out of their asses for tomorrow night's game because they definitely don't want to head to Ottawa having suffered two losses at home. :D

Kevsh 04-27-2007 03:38 PM

I still think the NJ/Ott series will go the distance. Often first games are offensive explosions before they settle down (witness Dal/Van first round ... what, 9 goals in game one and about 7 for the rest of the series!)

I pray Buf/NYR goes 7 too as I have all Sabres and Rangers in my draft left. Doubt it though, it probably goes 5 with NY winning one at home.

SJ will beat Det, though it could go to 6 or 7. Detroit still has too many "playoff-soft" players up front and Dom is starting to show his age this season.

Ana will sweep Vancouver. Any team that relies on the Sedins for offence is going nowhere - they took 7 to beat a Dallas team with, yikes, Mike Ribeiro as their leading scorer.

Buf/Ott will go 7 with Buf barely getting by. I see Ott winning both in Buffalo before the Sabres wake up and realize they are in a series.

Ana will take SJ in as little as 5. Ana has all the ingredients needed in the West.

The Cup ... Buf over Ana and it goes all 7 .. and maybe overtime.
:thumbsup

As a Sabres fan I only pay close attention to the east this time of year. I think the Sabres will take out the Rangers in 6 or 7.

Ottawa is good to go in 5 over NJ. For those saying Ottawa is a one dimensional team they are sadly mistaken. I REALLY dislike them but I think they are going to take it all this year and will probably roll over my beloved Sabres in the ECF.

Otw/Buf matchup would be bad for Buf. hard hits and physical play disrurps Buf playmaking abilities. but thats ok, i dont think the Sens will get past NJ anyway.

but i am sorry, just playing physical wont make it far.
NJ over Sens in 6

fuzzylogic 04-27-2007 03:59 PM

who watched the 1st buf/ny game? didnt it seem weird? although i did not watch the NY/atl series, it seemed to me that NY was SLEEPING, not trying hard and losing (opposite Van and NJ who played hard and lost). but sleeping and losing.

that concerns me.
could NY wake up? or is that not an issue to worry about?

Wow.

Just... wow.

Did not expect that from a loyal Sabres fan. :D

Sens are well-coached, I must say. They definitely have as much chance as anyone and better than some to make it to the final and take it all.

Never thought 6 weeks ago I'd be saying that.

they sure are well coached.
remember, they have made it into the playoffs 10seasons straight. they sure know how to play hard and they got the scars to prove it.

but, just physical play wont make it far :warning

If NJ takes tomorrow night's game at home and then steals one in Ottawa I just might agree with you.

CDSmith 04-27-2007 06:41 PM

Why do the retard Sabres fans keep booing every time Jagr touches the puck?

??

I agree but Buffalo just blew that theory to hell tonight. Zubrus and crew played some hard hitting hockey and pulled out a win after playing like shit for 50 minutes. Go Sabres!

Its just a portion of the arena that does that shit. I go to a good 50% of the games myself. It seems like the drunks in the cheap seats like to boo the opposing teams star or anyone that took a cheap shot on a Sabre in the past. They do it to Ovechkin, Satan, Heatley, Chara, etc.

If you are a player on the other team that is getting booed at the HSBC arena you know you made it in the NHL.

We aren't all retards though. They are probably just drunk. :)

Yeah I didn't mean all Sabres fans are retards, ha ha.

There are retard fans in every arena. :D

Good first period for Vancouver. Any time they can get out of the 1st in a tie it's good news for them.

CDSmith 04-27-2007 09:00 PM

1 - 1 after the second.

Canucks have a chance to take this one, they're actually playing quite well.

Varius 04-27-2007 09:02 PM

I predict Getzlaf buries a game-winner tonight in OT against the Canucks :upsidedow

CDSmith 04-27-2007 10:58 PM

CANUCKS WINNNN!!!!

I don't know how that shot went in.

quiet 04-27-2007 11:08 PM

fuck yeah.

viroman 04-28-2007 01:35 AM

BUFFALO 2-0 2nd game was hard for sabres tonight..

flashfire 04-28-2007 01:45 AM

Canucks fluke out big time...nice goal

Van won.
i cant believe it! when shit like that happens it makes me wonder if i know _anything_ about hockey.
the game was blocked here in vegas so i couldnt see.

when i move back to buffalo maybe we'll go to some games together :thumbsup

CDSmith 04-28-2007 08:58 AM

All I can say is Canucks better capitalize on the home ice advantage they're about to enjoy.

As for today's games...

Sharks @ Detroit -- I'm going to say the wings rally and win this one to tie the series.

Senators @ New Jersey -- it would be nice for Ottawa to grab this one as well, then head back for their home games. Either way I think this is the game to watch. I say the Devils win it by one overtime goal.

No with Luongoal in net and Slowpel on the blueline. Ducks in 5.

Funny play on words, but that guy is keeping that team together. How can you have so many powerplays and spend the whole time your own zone. :disgust

Exactly. I think some people see the same game through clouded eyes or something.

Without Luongo last night the score would have been drastically different.

Sean 04-28-2007 11:31 AM

the sharks will need to get more shots on net today

Damn I'm on a roll lately.

I should be betting heavy. :D

Furious_Male 04-28-2007 06:03 PM

NJ is looking good early on 2-0 after 1. They are tough to beat when they have the lead.

CDSmith 04-28-2007 06:22 PM

Now in the 2nd Ottawa is coming on like gangbusters.

2-1

This is a great game so far.

CDSmith 04-28-2007 07:33 PM

THAY SCORRRRRRE!!!!!!

Ottawa ties the game with SECONDS left! :D

quiet 04-28-2007 07:34 PM

holy shit what a goal! 27 seconds left! beautiful pass.

CDSmith 04-28-2007 08:22 PM

Beautiful beautiful overtime. :D

2nd OT coming up.

Furious_Male 04-28-2007 08:29 PM

Both teams look like they are skating in mud. No legs left.

Are you and I watching the same game? They are flying out there.

Look at that goal, holy shit.

Series tied!

Damn that was a great game. And I called it. I really should be betting on these games dammit. :D
