Damn that was a great game. And I called it. I really should be betting on these games dammit. :D

Flying haha hardly.

You have to remember I watch a team with 4 fast lines all season long ;) .

Great finish though. Drag this series out longer now.

CDSmith 04-28-2007 09:04 PM

That was some fast paced end to end hockey there.

Some of the best OT I've seen in a while. Although they lost tonight I have new respect for Ottawa.

you called it???
i see how you are.

fuzzylogic 04-29-2007 03:27 AM

so what predictions do we have for sunday?

seems sure that Buf will take a 3-0 lead.

the Anh-Van game was blacked out here. did Van put a defensive clamp-down on the 2nd game or was just the goalie good?

As for today's games...

Sharks @ Detroit -- I'm going to say the wings rally and win this one to tie the series.

Senators @ New Jersey -- it would be nice for Ottawa to grab this one as well, then head back for their home games. Either way I think this is the game to watch. I say the Devils win it by one overtime goal.

Can't call it much closer than that. And I posted it 8 hours before the game started.

So yes, I called it.

Now do you see how I am? :D

CDSmith 04-29-2007 07:42 AM

Today's games --

If the Rangers are going to take one game it will probably be this one. But in all likelyhood Buffalo is going to go up 3 games to nil. I say they win 4-1.

Ducks @ Vancouver: I think that the Canucks got a wakeup call in game 1 with that 4-1 loss, and they rallied in game 2. They workhorsed the ducks and yes, with Luongo's goaltending managed to salvage one win on the road. If they don't relax even a little at home they have a chance to win today, but I'm going to say the Ducks win this one 5-3.

CDSmith 04-29-2007 01:47 PM

Wow, Rangers showing some life today. 1-1 after 3.

Now for more sweet sweet overtime. :D

fuzzylogic 04-29-2007 01:55 PM

the NHL package is da bomb

CDSmith 04-29-2007 02:36 PM

Damn this is great hockey.

Still 1-1 after one overtime. Too bad I have to go meet some people for dinner, I'm going to miss the ending to this one. :(

Rangers are not making it easy for them.

fuzzylogic 04-29-2007 03:21 PM

Bflo had an upswing in mid of 2nd. the tired NY were allowing more open ice for bflo to skate with. things were looking good. then a screened shot from the point sent bflo packing for next game :/

fuzzylogic 04-29-2007 03:38 PM

bflo played too nice and reactionary to NY.

ny seemed tired in OT

both OT's were not very exciting at all.

quiet 04-29-2007 05:02 PM

van game starts right away... stoked :)

CDSmith 04-29-2007 06:03 PM

Nice tying goal in the final minutes of the 1st period. I missed Anaheim's goal.

2nd period coming up... :D

Varius 04-29-2007 06:58 PM

C'mon Ducks, fight the Van crowd, lame penalties and just play a rock-solid 3rd and you take home ice back :)

For those who want to see the game but can't you can watch it on SopCast: http://www.sopcast.com/download it's on right now, CBC feed, on channel name "NHL 3".

Varius 04-29-2007 07:19 PM

Thank you Corey Perry! 3-2 Ducks.

Ducks 2-for-4 on PP, Nucks 1-for-8. That's the bottom line of the game.

Spunky 04-29-2007 07:23 PM

What a boring game..Canucks can't buy a break

Moraxian 04-29-2007 07:39 PM

The Devils and Sens are *both* solid teams and both too good for that series to be a short series.

The Rangers barely got a win today to get that series to 2-1, and it will probably serve as a wake-up call to the Sabres. The Sens and Devils have more OT waiting for them... I think the Sens are likely to win, but if they do, they'll face a Sabres team that is in good shape.

Anaheim just won, to go up 2-1. Sharks got what they needed in Detroit in getting one of the two games....

I pretty much agree with all of this.

I thought it was a great game actually. Good 2-way action. Some spectacular hits near the end. At times the Canucks really came on strong and were all over them but couldn't buy a goal.

The penalties were insane there for a while, on both sides.

Too bad Vancouver didn't capitalize more in the 1st period, I thought they played their best hockey then. If they played like that for all 3 periods they'd be pretty hard to beat for any team.

CDSmith 04-30-2007 12:30 PM

Two more games on tonight. Enough with the lame drama, it's time to talk HOCKEY.

Devils @ Ottawa --- series tied 1-1... first home game of the series for the Sens. I say they win this one.

Sens 4
Devs 3

Red Wings @ San Jose --- series tied 1-1... I'll say Sharks win tonight's game.

Sharks 3
Wings 2

There it is. :D

CarlosTheGaucho 04-30-2007 12:46 PM

Wishing that Canucks make another cup finals, my favourite team since the Mogilnyj / Bure days and the legendary 93 / 94 playoffs. Hundreds of hours playing NHL videogames made me aware of every player and every stat way back those days.

Not that much in the picture now, too bad I cannot watch more games live, seems like an interesting playoff year. Have to wake up in the morning though.

CDSmith 04-30-2007 03:46 PM

Devs-Sens about to start. 15 mins.

oohyeah :D

Those were two mighty close "goals" at the end of the 1st. :D

g$$$ 04-30-2007 05:55 PM

go sharrrrrrrrrrrks!!!!

Phil 04-30-2007 05:55 PM

Lets go red wings.. and Canucks..

chuvii 04-30-2007 06:01 PM

Let's go Devils!

Anaheim - NJ final will be great :)

CDSmith 04-30-2007 06:37 PM

2-0 Ottawa (final)

That was a great game. Even with a hot Brodeur the Sens kept on it and got it done. Good hitting, good hustle, good defense. Nice win.

Now for Red Wings-Sharks, starts in just over 20 mins.

Ah, so much great hockey, I almost feel like making a beer run. :D

if u think that was a "great game" then i am starting to really doubt ur hockey experience. it was better than the buf/ny game which was the worst i have seen in the 2nd round. but still, it was pretty boring with a lack of discipline and ability to make plays.

it was a good game as a viewer.
it was not a bad game but not great either for both teams. way too much open ice.

as a viewer -- it was crazy!

*fastfoward .. viewing det/sj*
and i thought the otw/nj game was crazy fast! this game is intense!

fuzzylogic 04-30-2007 08:39 PM

dammnnnnnnnn
this is intense

fuzzylogic 04-30-2007 08:44 PM

damn
this game makes my nipples hard.

it's the same open ice from the otw/nj earlier, but this game is on OVERDRIVE

fuzzylogic 04-30-2007 09:37 PM

wowie wowie
that was a battle

today we saw 4 great goalies! 2 of which helped win games!

CDSmith 04-30-2007 09:41 PM

Both games tonight were good. The wings-sharks game that just ended was terrific.

Nice 2-1 victory for SJ for the go-ahead in the series.

I am loving these playoffs.

Tomorrow night they're at it again... Sabres - Rangers and Ducks - Canucks.

Must replenish beer and munchies supply.

Nearly every game in the playoffs is a great game. The players 99% of the time play like their lives depend on winning, which is the way it should be all season but isn't. If you don't think this is great hockey then you must be downright pissed off for much of the regular season games. :D

My hockey experience -- well, I played the game for over 20 years. Reffed a few games along the way. Spent most of my adolescent life at outdoor rinks and arenas, out on the front street and even down the basement practicing. I like to think I know good hockey when I see it. :D

CDSmith 05-01-2007 09:44 AM

Tonight's games

Sabres @ NY Rangers -- hmm, Sabres won their two home games, then Rangers won THEIR first home game. Series 2-1 for Buffalo. I think the Sabres will take tonight's game and go up 3 games to 1.

Ducks @ Vancouver -- Series is 2 games to 1 for the Ducks... I say the Canucks win tonight's game at home to tie the series.

Games on every night for the next while without a break. I'm going to try and watch them all, I love playoff hockey. This, and the Olympics and world cup, is the best hockey in the world.

T - Bone 05-01-2007 09:49 AM

Loved that Sharks game, on the edge of my seat the whole game.

Plenty thankful we have a deep bench, we absolutely needed a strong 3rd period and they pulled it off.

fuzzylogic 05-01-2007 05:13 PM

nice
the 1st period was rough and boring. but the 2nd looks like it is being to open up and that favors speed teams :)

Scott McD 05-01-2007 05:20 PM

I've been watching most of the games over here in the UK. Means they are usually on about 3am, but i'm always up at that time anyway ! :thumbsup
