Well after a tough loss in game two the Wings sent a message last night that skill will always beat dirty hackey bush league style hockey in the end. I love the total meltdown in the second the goalie change, all the penalties, the major on Niedermeyer (he and pronger should have played their last hockey for the season) and then the third period opening with Tomas Holmstrom taking the first shift and assisting on the 5th goal. It was a good night to be a wing fan can't wait until the Wings vs. Ottawa Series:thumbsup

What fun is watching hockey if there's no gloating afterwards? :pimp

Looks like the Ducks are cooking themselves! Fuck Pronger. Fuckin pussy gets a free ride to the cup last year and then splits cause he banged some chick in Edmonton so his wife demands a move. :321GFY

Ducks aren't done yet but yes, I think a Wings - Sens cup final would be the better series.

Looking forward to tonight's game. Sens could put fluffalo out of their misery

(and have a nice long rest-up before the cup series)

:D

fuzzylogic 05-16-2007 04:32 PM

i love hockey

this new 1st line for buf is hott

i have watched every sabres game this year. so i silently support them with my heart :)
despite the 1st goal, they are playing stronger offensivly, but still have problems with Otw in the defensive zone

fuzzylogic 05-16-2007 04:49 PM

pronger got suspended

CDSmith 05-16-2007 05:45 PM

3-2 Buffalo.

wow. Things are looking better for them tonight, but Ottawa is coming back strongly.

3rd period should be interesting. :D

fuzzylogic 05-16-2007 05:59 PM

will it be the last 20min for the sabres? i sure hope not

fuzzylogic 05-16-2007 06:37 PM

I Cant Fucking Believe Bflo Didnt Score!

fuzzylogic 05-16-2007 06:38 PM

WELL, some team woke up....

CDSmith 05-16-2007 06:45 PM

This is the first game of this series where I can honestly say both teams really kicked ass and took names.

I hope the next one is just as good.

BACK TO BUFFALO! Game 5 should be a dandy.

it surely was a better game for buffalo. i am not saying that just because they won. i still think Otw is a 2-d team. game after game it's the same team playing the same way. heck, it's winning... but still i disapprove. :)

I figured the Sabres would play a much better game.My guess is they will take the next one also.Very entertaining game

Furious_Male 05-16-2007 08:49 PM

Ottawa still has the Sabres number this year but its nice to at least push it to a game 5 and make Ottawa work a bit for it. To go out in a sweep would take away everything the Sabres did this year (Ie: Presidents cup, Top selling team merch. for the NHL, actual hockey excitement etc.).

Ottawa will go to the cup but for now Ottawa fans know where they can stick that broom stick.

Varius 05-17-2007 05:25 PM

c'mon Ducks, beat down them Wings 3-1 tonight to even the series back up :)

I am chauncy 05-17-2007 06:47 PM

Looks like my wings are in trouble tonight JS is on fire 14 shots for the wings to 6 for the ducks and the wings are down a 2 goals in the first ouch this is been a great series so far and I can only see it getting better

I am chauncy 05-17-2007 07:43 PM

setting up to be on hell of a great third period

CDSmith 05-17-2007 08:33 PM

That's it. Empty-net goal, this one's Anaheim's.

Back to Detriot with a 2-2 series tie.

I figured this one would go 7 games. I still think that. It's a great series so far, only likely to get better.

Spunky 05-17-2007 08:37 PM

Quack kicked it up a notch.Detoilet probably the next game 3-2

I think your right these are two great teams playing great hockey JS was amazing tonight. I just hope that Detroit can hold them off at home this might be a series where no team wins two games in a row

Tomorrow night's game: oh shit, wait... no hockey on Friday night!

Okay, SATURDAY NIGHT's GAME -- I say the Sens win the series with a 3-2 win, possibly in overtime, but a win nonetheless.

CDSmith 05-19-2007 09:48 AM

Tonight's the night.

GO SENS!

chuvii 05-19-2007 09:53 AM

ronaldo 05-19-2007 11:26 AM

I love the way Doug Allen sings the national anthems. No unnecessary voice influxion to show off his vocal range. He just sings them like they should be sung. :2 cents:

Buffalo 4-2 with an empty netter. Back to Ottawa with all the pressure on the Sens.

Domains_Broker 05-19-2007 01:14 PM

Go Detroit!!!!

Predict0wn3d! :D

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -Postseason underachievers no more, Daniel Alfredsson and the Ottawa Senators are in the Stanley Cup finals for the first time.

The Senators captain scored 9:32 into overtime to seal a 3-2 win over the top-seeded Buffalo Sabres, sealing the Eastern Conference finals in five games on Saturday.

The Senators rallied from a 1-0 deficit and rebounded after Maxim Afinogenov forced overtime with a power-play goal with 9 minutes left in regulation.

Dany Heatley had a goal and two assists, and Jason Spezza also scored for the new and very improved Senators that had known only frustration in nine previous postseason appearances.

Leave it to Alfredsson, the player who has appeared in all of the franchise's 94 playoff games to finally push them through. Accepting Heatley's pass on the fly, Alfredsson broke over the blue line. He used Sabres defender Brian Campbell as a screen, and had his shot sneak in inside the right post.

Ottawa will now wait to face Anaheim or Detroit. The Western final series is tied at 2, with Game 5 at Detroit on Sunday.

The Presidents' Trophy-winning Sabres were knocked out in the semifinals for the second straight year.

3-2 Ottawa in OT.

I'm lovin it.

Ducks - Wings playing right now!

No score.

CDSmith 05-23-2007 10:59 AM

Damn, because of the provincial election coverage last night I never got to see the Ducks-Wings game. :(

But I saw some highlights. Ducks fans should be ecstatic, they are going to the cup series.

Sens-Ducks starts Monday night in Anaheim. :D

Furious_Male 05-23-2007 11:50 AM

It was a good game with the Detroit making a game of it in the last period. The Ducks better tighten up if they want to beat Ottawa.

Its going to be a good cup. I will stand by my Jan. prediction that Ottawa will win the cup but I have a chance of being wrong. The Ducks look tough.

CDSmith 05-24-2007 09:20 AM

Final series prediction right here....

Tonight's score:

4-3 Ducks in OT.

Agree. Emery has to play better than he has so far and I think he will. Bringing the cup back to Canada.

Oh...I have tickets to every game too. :thumbsup

quiet 05-28-2007 10:19 AM

tonight: sens 4 ducks 2

northboy 05-28-2007 10:28 AM

Think the Sens will have the scoring advantage tonight.

Prairiegrrl 05-28-2007 10:37 AM

I would love for Ottawa to win the cup, been a long time since a Canadian team has won it 93 was the last time. Anyways for the Sens to win they need their second and third line to produce some offense. Phillips, Redden and Volchenkov have to play the best defense of their careers and Emery has to be solid in net.

For the Ducks to win Pronger, Neidermayer and Beauchemin need to be outstanding not that the first 2 mentioned hasn't been. For the offense again second and third lines need to produce. Giguere is who got them this far and needs to play the series of his career to take home the cup.

Over all it will come to the play of Emery and Giguere for each team. These 2 are both outstanding goalies but both teams do have their snipers and both need to be on top of their games.

I give size and speed to the Ducks, but I think the Sens can play a better 2 way game.

GO SENS GO!!!!!!

I don't. Well, overall size maybe, but Ottawa is a fast team, they've proved that in these playoffs already. They can move and move that puck when they need to, and jam the other team up between the bluelines too. They are also a hard-hitting team that can take it to any team, "big" or otherwise.

Either team can win it, no question. Both have the firepower, both have the physical game down, it's going to come down to who wants it more.

And I think Ottawa wants it more.

Can't wait for the puck to drop.

CDSmith 05-28-2007 03:04 PM

THIS JUST IN

A local classic rock radio DJ just had an on-air mini interview with a psychic. In that interview he asked her "Who is going to win the Stanley cup, Ottawa Senators or Anaheim Ducks?"

She responded with "The best player on Anaheim will get an injury that puts him out of the series, and Ottawa will go on to win it"

It was assumed by the DJ that she meant Temu Selanne. However, she did sound a bit weird, like and old Cyndi Lauper on double xanax. :D

CDSmith 05-28-2007 10:41 PM

WHAT? No one wants to comment on how that game turned out?

lol

I thought it was a great game. Damn the ducks really pulled their own butts out of the fire in the 3rd. I was hoping for overtime, but oh well. Game 2 here we come...

CDSmith 05-30-2007 07:17 PM

Anyone else watching the Stanley cup series or am I alone here?

You idiots are missing one hell of a game. Scoreless in the 3rd period, these two teams are going nuts to try and win it.
