Go Detroit!!!!

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -Postseason underachievers no more, Daniel Alfredsson and the Ottawa Senators are in the Stanley Cup finals for the first time. The Senators captain scored 9:32 into overtime to seal a 3-2 win over the top-seeded Buffalo Sabres, sealing the Eastern Conference finals in five games on Saturday. The Senators rallied from a 1-0 deficit and rebounded after Maxim Afinogenov forced overtime with a power-play goal with 9 minutes left in regulation. Dany Heatley had a goal and two assists, and Jason Spezza also scored for the new and very improved Senators that had known only frustration in nine previous postseason appearances. Leave it to Alfredsson, the player who has appeared in all of the franchise's 94 playoff games to finally push them through. Accepting Heatley's pass on the fly, Alfredsson broke over the blue line. He used Sabres defender Brian Campbell as a screen, and had his shot sneak in inside the right post. Ottawa will now wait to face Anaheim or Detroit. The Western final series is tied at 2, with Game 5 at Detroit on Sunday. The Presidents' Trophy-winning Sabres were knocked out in the semifinals for the second straight year. 3-2 Ottawa in OT. I'm lovin it. |

Ducks - Wings playing right now!
No score. |
Damn, because of the provincial election coverage last night I never got to see the Ducks-Wings game. :(
But I saw some highlights. Ducks fans should be ecstatic, they are going to the cup series. Sens-Ducks starts Monday night in Anaheim. :D |
It was a good game with the Detroit making a game of it in the last period. The Ducks better tighten up if they want to beat Ottawa.
Its going to be a good cup. I will stand by my Jan. prediction that Ottawa will win the cup but I have a chance of being wrong. The Ducks look tough. |
Final series prediction right here....
Ottawa in 6 Monday night's game 1: Sens 3 Ducks 2 Agree? Disagree? |
Go Sens Go!

Tonight's score: 4-3 Ducks in OT. |

Agree. Emery has to play better than he has so far and I think he will. Bringing the cup back to Canada. Oh...I have tickets to every game too. :thumbsup |
tonight: sens 4 ducks 2
|
Think the Sens will have the scoring advantage tonight.

I would love for Ottawa to win the cup, been a long time since a Canadian team has won it 93 was the last time. Anyways for the Sens to win they need their second and third line to produce some offense. Phillips, Redden and Volchenkov have to play the best defense of their careers and Emery has to be solid in net.
For the Ducks to win Pronger, Neidermayer and Beauchemin need to be outstanding not that the first 2 mentioned hasn't been. For the offense again second and third lines need to produce. Giguere is who got them this far and needs to play the series of his career to take home the cup. Over all it will come to the play of Emery and Giguere for each team. These 2 are both outstanding goalies but both teams do have their snipers and both need to be on top of their games. I give size and speed to the Ducks, but I think the Sens can play a better 2 way game. GO SENS GO!!!!!! |

Either team can win it, no question. Both have the firepower, both have the physical game down, it's going to come down to who wants it more. And I think Ottawa wants it more. Can't wait for the puck to drop. |
THIS JUST IN
A local classic rock radio DJ just had an on-air mini interview with a psychic. In that interview he asked her "Who is going to win the Stanley cup, Ottawa Senators or Anaheim Ducks?" She responded with "The best player on Anaheim will get an injury that puts him out of the series, and Ottawa will go on to win it" It was assumed by the DJ that she meant Temu Selanne. However, she did sound a bit weird, like and old Cyndi Lauper on double xanax. :D |
WHAT? No one wants to comment on how that game turned out?
lol I thought it was a great game. Damn the ducks really pulled their own butts out of the fire in the 3rd. I was hoping for overtime, but oh well. Game 2 here we come... |
Anyone else watching the Stanley cup series or am I alone here?
You idiots are missing one hell of a game. Scoreless in the 3rd period, these two teams are going nuts to try and win it. |
