That's a great idea! Wonder if that old Marvel guy thought of that. What's his name who made up a lot of the heroes. He always seemed to have some gimmick going

The only one I know of that isn't approved is the Liberty Dollar, because it's 1 ounce of copper which is only worth about 25 cents and they try to have it as a $1 coin. So it's not legal tender but still counts as currency as over 10,000 US retailers state they accept it.

So those claiming the SS coin cannot be legal tender, do your research better :upsidedow

The coins that the Franklin Mint puts out are NCLT's, and are not considered legal tender in the almost every country out there -- including the United States -- and are only "legal tender" in small countries in which they were 'originally' intended and printed for. The coins worth has absolutely nothing to do with it being accepted as legal tender in the US.

Don't you find it disturbing that currency is used as a form of promotional advertising? What's next, a dollar with Stan Lee?

Welcome to the Machine

If the govrnment approves it as such, then it is legal tender. However in this case since it is being minted by the US Mint and only altered by Franklin Mint I'm sure it will be legal tender.

But really it's a moot point as do you think anyone who has one of these will try and spend it for 25 cents ? :winkwink:

Pardon me for not knowing the name of the god of comic book collectors and thirty-year-olds who live in their parents' basement

Most of us do some type of marketing, yet no one is seeing the true marketing method in this..

Wow, you people amaze me.

The coin thing is BULLSHIT, but it is creating a hype, thus getting the movie's name out there.
