Cats are brilliant. Grew up with them my whole life until my cat of 14 years died last summer.

This morning my girlfriend also woke me up as our neighbour had asked her if we knew who owned a little black cat that he found lying dead in his garden this morning. Really sad, it was curled up in a ball as if it lay down and just didn't wake up.

I was single and had two cats. I don't know what the guys thought my orientation was, but the girls I brought home liked them, which is all that matters really. :Graucho

I would recommend going to your local pound versus getting one off the internet. That way you can check out the personality beforehand and make sure you get along. Cats are picky creatures. They don't like everyone. They are great when they love you. I grew up having lots of cats, trust me some are strange. You want to get to check out the cat a little first. :2 cents:

You want a cat?

Get one.

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
-- Dr. Seuss ("The Cat in the Hat")

I shared the responsibility of a couple of cats for ten years with an old roommate before we went our separate ways.

Had them trained to go to the bathroom in the toilet and everything (having trained both... cats are a lot smarter than dogs, imho - but also a lot more independent). Only chicks that didn't love them were the ones with allergies.

I like dogs much more

I got a cat for my oldest daughter..We've had him for over five years and he's a very affectionate cat...I just don't like cleaning up after animals and if a cat decides to piss in your bathtub, LOOK OUT...The stench is something awful and the ONLY thing that can get rid of the smell is bleach and even that is only temporary...Once a cat REALLY gets to pissing in your tub, (like when we were out of town for a week), the smell never goes away completely..

Thank God I'm moving out of this place Friday...I'm going to pour straight bleach in the bathtub to keep it nice for a week...Then the landlord is going to smell a hint of "something" after awhile...But by then, I'll be long tone.

edit...this is only applicable to PLASTIC tubs....Good ole fashioned iron/ceramic tubs aren't a problem...

I have two cats and they are badass, and both are very affectionate. If you have the oppertunity to pick from a litter, pay attention to the kittens that come when you call them, and are happily responsive when you pet them. They'll likely stay that friendly:)

Get a Bengal or a Serval kitty. Both are cooler than most dogs.

Btw, your landlord allows cats but not dogs? Dude, your landlord is a dogist!

Dog smells are way worse than Cat claw marks :)

My brother owns a cat and he's not gay.

But who the fuck cares if your friends think it's gay. They're idiots. Get a cat if you love cats and will love it and take care of it. I mean, shit. Who cares what meatheads think anyway?

Hmm...Webmasters and Pussy...You're right very strange! :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

All seriousness though, I used to hate cats and my ex brought one home. She was beautiful but such a bitch she was antisocial and annoying. Needless to say he kept her when we split!

My boyfriend now has had his cat for 11 years and she is adorable, she's a big fat lovely cat and she sleeps on my chest every night.

It's about finding the right cat trust me. I have 3 of them now :)
