Thomas007 06-18-2007 05:54 AM

I also stumpled into

livefling.com
liveflings.com

Registering domains is funny, kind of like a shopping spree.
You don't use all you buy :-)

Let me know if they have any interest.

polish_aristocrat 06-18-2007 05:56 AM

btw what if i find a domain which' owner is asking f.e $80k and i can only pay $40k for it?

(yes, i also buy domains, but because of limited budget and being very cautious in risk taking, i buy them only if I consider them priced significanly below market price)

can you offer some kind of finders fee for me? if yes, how much? Yes, you'd be paying the fee, not the seller, since the seller isnt really desperate to sell..

btw the $80k domain mentioend above is just an example to illustrate what I mean

Thomas007 06-18-2007 06:06 AM

Extra domains I found:
escortdiscussion.com
escortusers.com
escortuser.com
myescorttips.com

Could be used for users of escort services to exchange experiences and give tips to newbies on the market.

Moneytising from escort agencies via ads on the sites.

I better start doing some work instead of searching for domains :-)

Now, see, that's taking the whole "your domains are crap" GFY game too damned far.

I'll admit, there have been some fugly domains posted in this thread. But that's not one of them.

Rick is looking for very strong domains by the sound of it. Six and seven figure domains have to be amazingly good.

But, back down here in the real world, there is a huge and brisk trade in decent <keyword><keyword>.com domains. If the keywords are strong, if at least one of them is short, if the two keywords together make sense and touch well upon human trade and commerce, you can quite quickly find that you've got a four or five figure domain. Sextherapy.com is one of those.

Rick quality? Probably not, I dunno, I don't care.

But not worth registering? Are you freaking INSANE? Sex therapy is a big and profitable business, sex is an awesome keyword, the domain name looks good on the screen and speaks well on the radio. If I owned it, I wouldn't sell for less than five figures.

Fair disclosure, I've got a big portfolio of these two-keyword domains, most of which I picked up for registration price. And I've had five figure sales. Not many, but I've had some. So I know I'm not a complete idiot on this point, even if I am still a total n00b in Latona's thread. Sure, it's possible that I'm biased. I guarantee I've got domains in my portfolio that weren't worth their registration cost, and I'm sure like any other hopeful domain owner I'd look you in the eye and swear they were domain gold.

But I know the cost of a big value meal. And I'd skip quite a few of them for sextherapy.com. Sheesh! Someday, somebody has to explain to me about the psychic rewards of lurking on message boards just to crap all over other people.

OK, I'm done ranting! :ak47:

DomBuyer 06-18-2007 11:21 AM

People don't have a clue here, and that's okay. I've seen the same thing over the years, and it's always comical to see the same guys who month-in month-out say domains are worthless, yada yada, and find themselves being passed over by people who are doing big flips and realizing that porn is hard work, and domains aren't. Rick has obviously caught the bug and is charging hard.

Forkbeard 06-18-2007 11:52 AM

Hmm, good point. I guess the more people who think sextherapy.com is crap, the longer I'll be able to keep buying <keyword><keyword> domains for registration price.

I don't really have the sales chops for playing the flip game aggressively, but I have to admit that even so, the domain money I've made sure did come a lot easier than the porn money.

DomBuyer 06-18-2007 12:02 PM

Forkbeard, let me assure you that behind closed doors, the sums being paid for good keyword domains is incredible. The vast majority of deals are being done under NDA's and with zeros in a long row. The kids here don't have a clue (mostly).

You can say that again, Mr. Garrison. Initially when I came here selling names, people laughed at my prices, and in the meantime I was closing numerous sales to people on this board via email :p.

Bro, I've been in the domain business a long time. My domain loan company, www.digipawn.com, was the first in the business and is 4 years old at this point. I've been buying names for more than twice that long. The only that's new is that I'm spending more than ever before.

noam 06-19-2007 03:12 PM
