So true. I've had many nights where i smoked and drank so much that the next day i didn't want any of either. That's a good way to start, plus you can go out with a bang!

EN1GMA 07-18-2007 09:28 AM

good luck man... i tried also..and I did It! :D

Dagwolf 07-18-2007 09:38 AM

Good going, Shok! Quitting's different for everyone but one thing most agree on is the first 3 days are hardest. My wife and I quit 16 days ago. I'm not even tempted to go back, she's still having a rough time.

http://whyquit.com has a lot of useful info for people who want to quit.

WebairGerard 07-18-2007 09:39 AM

good luck shok!

everything has been going well until the last 5 hours

I'm fucking freaking out now and my skin is crawling. I decided to go play racquetball with JimW and I totally lost my shit and destroyed my racket by repeated banging it on the floor and throwing it against the window when people would walk by.

how long until the edge comes off? because Im about to go buy some crack soon

LOL, I thought this was a real thread until I read the part about you playing racquetball, I knew it had to be a spoof or a parody after reading that.

So what's the punchline, c'mon, we are waiting.

Jeff obviously you will need a beat down in the court next time I am in the area.

Name the time and place.

First I will beat you, then I will beat all your friend's and family in ALPHABETICAL order!!!

Brad even retired because the beatings were too extreme

SandisMN 07-18-2007 10:43 AM

good lad, lol:)

So last night I got angry again.

And I hit my storm door in a fit of anger.

you know the kind with the thick safety glass?

http://images.lowes.com/product/092304/092304120805.jpg

that fucking thing exploded into a billion shards all over me.
I totally trashed my hand and I will be picking out glass forever.

smoking sucks!!!!

Evil E 07-19-2007 09:55 AM

I'm following your footsteps... 18 hours now!

TG Rebecca 07-19-2007 09:55 AM

best of luck to you, and congrats on making this decision. :)

i used to smoke approximately 2+ packs a day. i tried to quit many, many times previously and failed miserably. my symptoms weren't as edgy as yours were, but there were enough to make me run out and buy a pack and give in. about two years ago, it must've just been the right time, because i quit and it wasn't hard at all. i didn't use any aids or do anything differently, but it worked. i think i just had to be 100% absolutely READY and willing. i never was 100% before and it definitely showed. i've been smoke-free for about two years now and i don't get cravings. the only thing i miss every once in a while are the habitual times that i would have a cigarette (after dinner, in the morning, etc), but it's not a big deal.

Tom_PM 07-19-2007 10:03 AM

You know, when the hospital had me on a bed for 3 days when there was no choice but to go from 2 packs a day to zero forever, it was very hard. One thing that helped was having a sort of "funeral" for the old habit. So dont just hide ashtrays or lighters and such.. box them up and throw them in the trash bin.
After all this thing was with you for a number of years, and it is going to be like something that was comfortable and familiar is now dead and gone. Best to treat it that way.

Dennis69 07-19-2007 10:17 AM

Good luck on quitting... just think that if you start smoking then breaking the glass, beating up the racquet and calling chuck e cheese a cocksucker will all be wasted :1orglaugh

I quit over a year ago from 3 packs a day to zero, the first 2 weeks was brutal but after that I could handle the cravings!

SandisMN 07-19-2007 04:18 PM

hows progress? :D

Shok 08-13-2007 09:09 AM

One month later......still not smoking

Still want one though

jprole 08-13-2007 09:15 AM

tomeatsdinner 08-13-2007 09:16 AM

It will be hard to quit man... But if you really want you have to control yourself.. It will take you a week to stop your craving for cigarettes..

goldmine 08-13-2007 09:18 AM
