seeric 08-13-2007 03:22 PM

this has nothing to do with you josh.

this is a fleshlight problem.

i think you're too defensive.

don't worry fleshlight won't be the only company getting dropped on. as i find things a lot of people are going to wake up with their coffee and find things.

this is an issue affecting the community. therefore posting it on community boards when the issues are not going to addressed and dealt with is the way to go.

you can't tell me that you would stop taking traffic from thief sites if i contacted fleshlight by email.

fleshlight wants me to contact them by email so they can handjob me and keep me quiet.

i got a big fucking mouth, and apparently unlike some others, bigger balls.

fuck the bro club, this is about right and wrong.

booo hooo i won't get invited to anymore parties.

don't take it personal, you guys just fell in the cross hairs first.

what you're doing is absolute bullshit.

I see the pain and theft. God this totally sucks, here's another one with a nice twist. I used to work for one of the companies under suspicion here. Out of political correctness, I will not say who or ID any sites. I get, or used to, killed from hotlinkers like fusker and many Asian surfer BBS. So trust me I know the cost of thievery well. Maybe not at a Producers level, but none the less it did cost me in BW.

http://www.asian-eros.com/00/mega2.gif

I went thru this site and found things from many of my sponsor programs I sell. AmatuerNetCash, GhostCash, BangBros and more. I also found that if you click for the "Get Laid..." on this static image you end up directly on a program mentioned here in this thread. I have seen this on a number of these sites. Come on coincidence, be real people. Especially when that is the sole sponsor.

Okay now consider this. Not every Tom, Dick or Harry (or Sue - equal rights here) has the server reserves, not to mention the toss away cash to handle hosting this amount of content in hopes to make enough sponsor cash to survive and pay bills. Damn one legit site we like YT is owned by a huge cash cow. Be real some big program owns or funds these thieves. When you see but one same sponsor on many of these sites doesn't that make some suspicious?

Now it gets really interesting

http://www.asian-eros.com/00/mega3.gif

These guys now want to offer the owning parties a cut of the pie? :Kissmy Isn't this kind of blackmail or hostage like. Honestly now if you don't agree they will still run your content and care less. Talk about a sick way to extort your content, they really show it with their "Membership" option. Surfers join to see your content. You get a friggen penny a minute. I cannot see why for any reason any sponsor would condone torrent sites. Torrent is nothing but theft. Shit talk about forcing a content provider into a deal

Maybe someone wants to question the 2257 legitmacy and copyright records via the Gov. Either way torrent sites are homes for thieves. I want nothing to do with them or sponsors supporting them using other programs material. The sheer size of ones hosting the material warrants a question of who is financing this illega practice? When a site as this has one sponsor, only one conclusion can be drawn. Now say well they are hosted out side the US and exempt. Fine, but if they are connected in any way to a sponsor in the US that is void.

BTW I am not new to advertising and the industry, but if you want to take a shot feel free. Ducked shit slings before.

ALOTI

AFF owns torrent sites?

ALOTI 08-13-2007 04:03 PM

Someone talked of what they will add to TOS for affiliates. Obviously the site I found has a sponsor that cares less about affiliate methods.

I did my best to edit and not give the show away. Hope it is okay. I sure don't want to promote this crap.

BTW it is not FleshLite

wow.

that site should be reported to the authorities. not sure where its hosted but if they followed the money and it ended up being a u.s. company that wouldn't be good.

ALOTI 08-13-2007 04:12 PM

Let's see how long it stays up. This could be interesting. Monitoring affiliates huh? We will see. It will probably reappear hosting elsewhere from Hong Kong. At least that is list as the owners. I would bet it is hosted here, maybe Utah. Hmmmm.

Yeah, we've been discussing Megarotic for some time now. They are definitely one of the most blatant offenders.

Here is the deal with AFF. They will bleed sites like this dry, cash out, then come out and say they are sorry and no longer support this types of sites. But they will only do this AFTER they make their money with them. They did just that with Zango. And all of you fucking idiots will keep pushing them as always.

I may be the stupid one.. but why aren't we as content providers offering rewards to webmasters/affiliates for calling out illegal activities with our content?

I personally would rather reward someone for protecting my stuff and being on my side. Shouldn't Fleshlight be overjoyed that someone is bringing something to their attention? Shouldn't they (we) make that very public... make it public that they were rewarded .... hell, all that money that is cancelled on an inappropriate or illegal affiliate should go to charities in the name of the affiliate.. they should get a cut of it (following a 3rd party investigation).... they should have their affiliate share increased...

Enough actions like that and no one will want to advertise except through the proper channels.

Oh yeah... and we as a community need to stand up and sue the fuckers en masse that steal our stuff (that includes the affiliates that place our content in areas against our TOS. You signed up for my rules.. you don't like it.. then don't agree to the contract). If it's hosted outside the US and they are carrying illegal or stolen content, their domains should be blocked by the federal government across the US. We do have laws for stuff like this... maybe not specifically, but now is the time to have them created. We all pay taxes, we all help to fund our government.. it should protect us from the scum that is hurting us.

And yeah.. I do feel that Fleshlight, if they are paying for advertisment at these sites, are supporting thievery. If they don't shut down their support and even their payments to affiliates it's as good as saying they condone it.

What percentages of your sales come from the US and the EU??? for most people it will be above 75% and more like 90%... I would venture to say that hosting anywhere in the world, but using stolen content to sell to persons in the US or the EU places you in legal jeopardy. We can't chase down the hosting, but we can sure as hell find a way to get the domains stopped broadcasting and delivering in the US and EU. The government may not like the product we sell, but we absolutely have political power when the numbers in this business are in the billions.

Come on guys (and ladies).... If we don't stand up together... we are all going to get fucked just the same.... no matter how big and strong you are (fleshlight, etc).

Because for the most part, dating, cams, and sex toys don't want to hear about it. They don't want to cut off that traffic source. They make money from it at everyone else's expense.

You are 100% correct. They should be thrilled that people are pointing this out to them, and if they actually took care of these things no one would be bashing them. But they don't care and just want to make it look like they do.

AFF is by far the worst of the worst, between cams.com and aff they cover just about every torrent site out there. I bet they spend millions a year on advertising on these sites, the very sites that are helping to destroy this industry one sponsor at at a time.

Kevin Marx 08-13-2007 06:21 PM

BTW... here's a thought for everyone involved in those big companies... and Josh this mainly goes to you because of your post today.

You are very aware that these torrent sites are hosting stolen content. You are also apparently paying for advertising at these sites.

I..... as a knowledgable citizen.... may not be able to sue whomever the rat bastards are that are using my content to sell memberships for stuff that they don't own... but I can sure as hell sue you because you know about it and you don't do anything about it. It literally is like giving money to the mafia and then they tell everyone to come to your restaurant or buy your cars. "but hey" you say.... "I don't condone that type of activity..... I was just advertising my product...."

Yes... at a location you know very well to be doing illegal activities..

So think this... maybe I can't get to the Malaysian dipshit that hosts the site.. maybe I can't get to the Russians that run the site... but I can get to you.. and I can get to AFF... and I can get to Cams.com All these US companies.. (or EU for that matter) are placing themselves in amazing legal waters by simply associating with criminals.... all in the name of the mighty dollar/euro. If I can shut you down... or hurt you big enough.. I can make the funding of the torrents go away. After all.... even though we Americans are the most gluttonous and me oriented country on the planet.... we also have the most money and that's where all of this shit is funded and that's where you have to get back to.... so I would recommend highly that you get away from it now.... someone (maybe me when my content eventually makes it there).... is going to have $$$ in my eyes and you will be my best target. Anyone I can get to with money will be included.

Operations like that there's no fucking way they can know where every hit is coming from, it's hard enough to track down referrers for fraudulent accounts, much less to know who has licenses to their content and who doesn't.

However, I don't think it's unreasonable for sponsors to update their TOS agreements to ban torrent sites and other types of sites that exist almost solely to infringe on copyrights, the same way warez sites were banned in 1998.

Then once it's brought to your attention that affiliate #1234 is using your banners on a torrent site, it's an easy termination. :2 cents:

Lenny I have to disagree with you, when I worked for a mainstream dot com. Helped run the affiliate program and analyzing the numbers, where, who the traffic and signups came from was a big part of the day.You wanted to see should we focus more on a certain type of site because the sign ups are strong there. If you think someone has 1000 sign ups a day or a large sponsor making millions and has no clue where the traffic is coming from your kidding yourself.

Welcome to the real world of business.

If it costs less to advertise on Torrent, Tube and use Zango than other methods then that's the way the smart business man will go. And please no cries about "The future of the Industry" you're bleating about your future and frankly if we cared a jot about "The future of the Industry". We would not of been fucking over the surfers and members for the last 10 years.

Every time you sent a click to a site that fucked over the surfer you did harm to the industry.

The people advertising on these sites care about their future and not yours.

Ask yourself, would you send traffic to a site that paid you well yet short changing the surfer?
