bump.

these types of sites are bullshit!

but,.... just to play devils advocate. many torrent sites are now private, which means there is some type of monthly fee involved. many college kids can afford a fee to a message board where torrents are posted, specially if its only say... $5 a month(like a rapidshare or demonoid account). i can go to any dvd production house or content supplier and get 1000 dvds with rights for $10,000. after that, the ongoing cost of operating a private torrent site is next to nill. because all the bandwidth is on your 'customers'. at the end of the day this IS a business model and it IS valid and the major part is IT WOULD BE 100% LEGAL! if you wanted to be really nice you could setup 10-12 shitty windows machines around the globe and actually 'host' the content via those computers so all the files are seeded ALL of the time. i think this is similar to what ICOO does?

maybe this is self created hell this industry made for ITSELF due to our inability to organize and rout out scammers and cheaters. maybe this is due to so many people seeing fucked up shit on thier CC's from porn sites. a $5 paypal fee each month sounds a lot safer to me. or maybe this is due to so many sites with virtually NO content inside of the members area. or maybe this is due to the fact that $40 a month is a lot of money to many people world wide, where as $5 a month is nothing and very affordable to 90% of people online. many of us forget simply because we exist in the top 0.0001% of the worlds population in wealth, that not all surfers are walking money signs.

to point the fingers only at the people that are profiting from this now is very naive in my opinion. if anything the blame should be shared amongst a few other sites/programs/people that helped to create this state. there are still a number of companies stuffing shit on peoples monthly statements and finding newer and more innovative ways to fuck the customer, rather then operating a straight up honest business.

innovation is the key to success. gotta learn to roll with the punchs. ya know?

There is nothing innovative about theft and of course they can sell it for 5 dollars month. They have no production or affiliate costs.People are funny they say websites charge too much a month but they want the great content ,the hot girls, the bigger slice of the pie and the great parties at internext. How does one pay for that with 5 dollars a month?

the blame is evenly distributed. there are a number of threads about it.

the community needs to make a stand or everyone hurts in the long run.

its time.

What is absolutely incredible and unbelievable is that I saw an AFF graphic another high traffic torrent site with no link at all. This is a branding move with full consent of AFF and money provided by AFF. This is a purchased spot people...

Notice the Python stuff too.

Other advertisers may have a bigger ad in that screenshot, but at least they don't come around here pretending to be everyone's friend.

Anyone ever purused a torrent site and had success in taking it offline or getting the content removed? If so, how did you go about doing it... just email? phone calls, more?
