Depends.. If they deliver it hot and on time.. Don't mind to be a little generous for good service..
|
I used to deliver pizza when I was 17-18 so I know how much tips matter to the delivery guy. I always tip at least $5 and sometimes more.
|
I used to tip delivery guys, but nowadays pretty much ALL restaurants down here in Brazil are charging high for the delivery. So I stopped tipping them.

We've always been charged per delivery over here, except by Dominos. Well, their pizzas are like $20 for a large in the UK so they don't need to charge delivery. I always tip the driver tho, its not his fault and like others say, I don't want anything happening to my pizza next time.
|
I tip the pizza guy.
But at a restaurant it's a different ball game. If someone thinks they are entitled to a tip just because they happen to work at a restaurant then they can fuck right off. I'm not looking for anything special even, just someone who is nice and doesn't make it seem like they are doing me a favour bringing me my food and taking my order. Quality check that shit and bring the bill in a reasonable time and you're getting a tip for sure. However, I say screw these people who are bad servers. Apparently their managers can't see that they suck, so it is up to the customer to drive them out of the industry. Hell, when I don't tip for horrible service, I'm doing someone a favour (assuming that the jackass takes the hint and realizes they are shit and hate their job and quit). Anyways, enough ranting...tip the pizza guy, he needs to put food on the table or pay for school. |
we pay like $.75 delivery charge for them to drive about 3.5 blocks. What usually include a few more dollars on top of that as well.
|
here in denmark you only tip if something extraordinary happens, if he brought me two pizzas instead of the one i ordered i would give the guy a few coins. but hell, that never happens, so no. you dont even tip restaurants here.
|
Yes, and I tip them well. I've had friends in the past that worked pizza delivery and I know that they keep track of what houses / people tip them and which don't. That helps them determine their priority to get their pizza to you, or if they are going to sit outside your house for a few minutes and make you wait.
Tip your fucking deliver guy |
Always...

My policy on tipping for home delivery of food is this....
-- if there is no delivery fee I tip the delivery guy $2-$5 depending on the amount of the delivery (and quality of service). Obviously on a $50 order you should throw him at least five bucks. -- However, if there is already a delivery charge on the bill, I simply round up to the nearest dollar and that's it. Why? Because I don't pay twice for the same thing. I will either pay a delivery fee or pay a tip, but not both. Same thing in restaurants. If there is a 15% gratuity tacked onto the bill, then that's the tip. I'm a generous tipper when I get good service, even better when that good service is coupled with great food. But I'll be damned if I'm going to pay twice for the same thing. And I don't care if "the poor driver doesn't see any of that delivery fee".... tough shit. No one is holding a gun to his head to work there, he can do the same job at another place that doesn't rip him off, and I'll tip him there. Fee or tip, it's one or the other, not both. |
i always tip at least 15%, but usually we just go pick the pizza up instead of having it delivered. :)
|
Of course

I tip $2.00 regardless of what I order. They charge a $1.50 delivery fee anyways ($1.00 goes to the store and $0.50 goes to the driver.) So they get a tip regardless...
|
Around here the delivery fee is part of the cost of the pizza - if you pick it up yourself you get a discount. I still tip the drivers though cos I rarely get stuff home delivered anyway.

As far as tipping a waitress when an additional waitress charge has been added to a bill, many restaurants add 15% for groups of 6 or more. I am not opposed to adding more to that 15% and usually do. |
i agree with mutt throughout this whole thing, also you shouldn't have to tip to insure quality services, if you have to do that, then you better find a better place to eat, you should get quality services whether you tip or not :2 cents:

Same thing with room service, if they add a gratuity to the bill then I'm not tipping the guy who brings it to my room. With cab drivers, they deserve a tip if they help me with luggage, otherwise the fare gets rounded up to the next dollar and that's it. I'm amazed by the sense of entitlement people in the service industry have though. I took a cab from the Venetian to the Monte Carlo once in Vegas, driver never said a word the entire ride. We get there and I pay the fare (but no tip) and as I'm walking away he screams to all the people and bellmen outside "THAT GUY DIDN'T TIP ME!!" I was like WTF?? :helpme |
We rarely have pizza delivered, but we always tip when we do
|
Of course you tip the driver. If you're too poor to tip then you shouldn't of ordered delivery and just picked it up yourself.
|
I always tip a few bucks

Frankly, having been on both sides of the rope, I think tipping's about class.
Some people got it. Some people don't. Whatever your belief structure on the thing, it's considered appropriate to tip delivery folks (despite any 'delivery charge' that may be there to supplement the driver with the cost of gas and maintenance on his car) 10% of your order. If your order was confusing as hell, required the stocking of a bunch of sides, or the guy picks up a pack of smokes or cans of soda that the restaurant didn't have for you, too, hook the guy up a bit more. if you don't, that's your prerogative, of course - but you're exhibiting a lack of class, I think. If you don't have the money to tip, you shouldn't be looking to others to provide you with a service to begin with, imho... you should be putting yourself in an environment where you do whatever yourself - whether it be pouring you a drink, parking your car, handling your bags, giving your order to a kitchen, driving your ass around, or making a trip to the local pizza joint's cash register. Otherwise, for me, it's as simple as you lack class. |
if you donīt tip him , pray to your god that next time they send another guy......I donīt even want to imagine what that guy can do with you pizza!
|
tip the pizza guy...jeez
