planet.....yet they failed in vietnam, failed in Irak (twice), failed in Afghanistan
and can't find a terrorist riding a camel in the mountains.......

If we had the full support of the American people for Iraq, we might have a different ballgame over there in Iraq. The political infighting and partisanship has greatly weakened our country. Our enemy sees us divided, and exploits it.

China is not much different. The American people made a terrible choice in voting for Bill Clinton. China exploited this and made massive gains in stealing our military technology during Clinton's administration. Now our own weapons technology is pointed.. at us.

The American people need to make better choices, give up their gas guzzlers, give up their cheap Chinese products, and stand united. If and when our great country collapses, the blame will be with the citizens who made these terrible choices.

We squashed the Iraqi army like a bug twice. (occupation is different than war numbnuts)

Vietnam was a mistake and a debacle, but no reasonable person has any doubt that we could have crushed them totally if we'd had the political will to do so.

We toppled the Taliban in what did it take? Two weeks? How long did the Soviets fight there before they gave up, tucked tail, and ran home?

While we're on the subject of powerful militaries, how long did it take you guys to bow down to Hitler? You were overrun in how many days?

BTW, the soviets stayed in Afghanistan for quite a while, taking casualties from the insurgents supported by the USA ....

Size of military is more or less unimportant these days. In a war with a major country like China, a push of a button can wipe out an entire city for generations.

Militarily, most experts will tell you that China is still decades behind us. Besides that, they have no strategic geographical allies that would threaten us. We have bases throughout the world, and many very close to China. One of the reasons the US doesn't get attacked on the homeland is because of the difficulty in getting troops into the country.

But all of this is pointless. No one is going to go to war with anyone here. China's economy relies on us just like we rely on them. We're turning into a global economy that makes it beneficial to everyone to stay peaceful.

It's just another "a Pentagon spokesman said" story and it did get published by various news media, but based on no evidence and coming from an agency with no credibility.

The Pentagon lives off having "threats to our defenses". It may or may not be true - all gaming-playing and posturing. Like China has an interest in "conquoring" the US?? They'd have to be paid to give a shit and waste their time - it would be like buying a bankrupt corp, paying full price and taking on all debt and problems. Fat chance.

I know what you mean that Iraq Republican Guard, ground troops and air defense put on a great fight. I remember seeing all the dog fights on TV, Iraq owned the sky.
And that massive offensive protecting the capital, what a fight. And lets not forget the armor Iraq had in the field, I wasnt sure if our tanks could match such sophisticated armored columns. Wow, those couple months were tough.
