I find it hard to believe that any US citizen can't remember, and I'm sure others around the world remember as well.

no one will forget where they were, I was cooking pancakes for the girls after making about 10 videos the night before. No sleep and burning 90% of them when it came on the news. 6 years later I still burn them too

I was asleep when it happened. I got up sometime after noon and turned on the TV. The words "America under attack" were on the screen with video of building rubble. The ticker at the bottom was listing various major cities for something. For a few minutes I thought we were being bombed all over by another country.

I was unemployed - with a job interview that afternoon (by which I secured a job, as a heads up) - and, for some odd reason, had fallen asleep on the couch with the T.V. on.
I woke up to the news broadcast, and witnessing plumes of smoke emanating from the Trade Center buildings. I thought I was watching some Tom Clancy Novel made into a mini-series before I flipped the channels and found the same news on every station. I remember I spent the rest of the day in a state of semi-shock... my rommate took the day off, and aside from that job interview, we just spent the day talking - later meeting up with a larger group of friends to do the same. And, like I've said before, if it wasn't for GWB being our Commander in Chief, I probably would have joined the army/airforce the next day. |
I was in the Army. Scared as hell

Standing in line at the DMV getting my tag renewed. When I got to the office everyone was like OMFG and I didn't believe them. All the news sites were down. Went home at lunch and watched the second tower fall on TV. :Oh crap
|
I was late to PE class in Costa Rica. I got there not knowing wtf was going on. I stormed into the locker room and saw everyone watching TV.
Since it was an American school, everyone got sent home. |

Long story but I didn't find out about it until 2pm Chicago time
I was driving home from my gf's house with a dead cell phone, bumping music. i wondered why people looked at me like I was a total asshole. :Oh crap When I got home, I saw the news and felt horrible for blasting music in the streets. |
who cares, it's ancient history. Quit living in the past.

I was reading GFY, somebody posted a plane had hit one of the towers.
I'm not from the US, so I was like yeah whatever, probably some tiny plane that had trouble, shit happens. Then a bit later I've read another one had hit one of the towers and that there was coverage on CNN ... so I've spent the rest of the day watching CNN |

In the parking lot in my car, watching everything unfold on my TV. (instead of working)

I was asleep. Woke up at 10:30am EST to my alarm which was set to a rock station. Instead of music, I heard the voice of Dan Rather. I was quite startled to say the least, because I knew something was wrong. I remember him saying something like "If you didn't think you'd see it in your lifetime...well, now you have. The Twin Towers have collapsed." My heart started beating really fast, I got up, and turned on the TV.

I was a junior in high school, I was driving to my 7:00 AM chem class and I was listening to it on howard stern... I wasn't even sure if it was real at first

Martina and I were viewing a house in london we were interested in buying. The realtor was not there yet.. He finally shows up and says have you heard what has been happening in America? He told us planes are crashing into buildings. Immediately we left and went back home and sat in front of the TV watching the events in disbelief all day.
