Well, I'll clear something up right now, I'm not here supporting Frank. While I agree with you that his post was poorly worded, my main point is that this issue spiraled into some kind of race war, when it really shouldn't of been.
Forget about Franks question, answer mine. Have you noticed that a large majority of young black males walk with a certain kind of limp? Have you noticed a large majority of white males walk as if they have a stick up their ass? Have you noticed a large majority of students in engineering programs are Asian? These are observations based on a sample of a large demographic, simple statistics. They are stereotypes for a reason, because a lot of them are legitimate.
Now, read back through your post. Say I was hanging out in a group of black people and said something inapproriate and was trying to get myself out of it and said, "I hang out with black people all the time, my best friend is black and I date black women, etc...." how would you say they would react? Do you think they would just accept that and let it slide, or do you think they would see that as some kind of cop out?
Before this goes off into oblivion, I'm not saying you are racist. But what I'm saying is if you deny stereotypes then you are living in an alternate reality. Whether you agree with them or not, they didn't just come out of nowhere. Just how life is.
