I decided to sit down with an ages old book on hacking...

I was surprised about how much of the topics they hit on in the book still work to this day...

yes, my host has monitoring on all servers, they detected the intrusion and took action

I betcha Jace got more traffic today that he was hacked than he gets in a week when fully running. I should try that myself one day :D

hahaha, no shit man, i usually get 100-150 uniques a day on that blog, today I got approx 400 so far

Jace, if you haven't done, it I would recommend getting rid of wordpress 2.2.2 - I saw something the other day that makes it SUPER vunerable.

Fuck it. I use one of their scripts (topsites) on one of my domains. Do you know if there are any vulnerabilities with that script I should be watching out for?

man, I have no clue...Tomas from Natnet took the time to track down everything for me, so I don't know the exact details, he just let me know the exact file that caused the backdoor into my server

it WAS the config.php file though, so maybe you can have a php programmer go over the config.php file on the program you are using

this time :) wordpress is still a disaster waiting to happen. Just take a look at the code, it's a total mess... if a coder delivered a piece of shit like that, I'd never hire him again.
