Yeah, I recently went through my links and a good portion had dropped the trades or simply ceased to be. Sucks to think how long I was either funneling traffic to nowhere, or to some douche who dropped me.

Believe me, with my service I deal with this sooooo much. I'd say 35% of my trades need to be replaced within 30 days. I have scripts to scan for this but it still takes up a good chunk of my day.

Jay, I have been shocked at the people who dropped links that, when I contacted, just sort of went "whatever". I understand mistakes, I understand recoding a page and forgetting a group of links... but just blindly dropping links without a reason just ain't cool at all.

well, i hateto go against the hrain, but i just checked my links exchanges and some of my blogs have gotten retardedly huge lists of cheaters and crap ass sites all over them. i'll probably drop a good 50% if not more of the links on these blogs shortly, and i ain't gonna be sending notice to every one of them.

i have also decided, NO MORE FUCKING LINKEX, from now on every link exchange i do is done manually...

It really shows the state of the industry. Many of the trades I have done were with people who you would not think would steal from you. Meaning I did not just post random who wants to trade links threads and swap with everyone who asked. On top of that I checked a few sites that I purchased one or two year hardlinks on, guess what... No fucking link anymore.

I liked it more when the majority could be taken at their word. Where I did not need to babysit every single tiny little trade or small purchase. Where ones word actually meant something. I am so damn ready to just get a group of people together each with their own strengths and just primarly work with them.

that's the only way to do it. i haven't even been around that long and i am realizing that i just want to get a handful of people i've dealt with already who are running larger networks and stick to exchanging with them. then if i want to later, i can buil another lower tier feeder network yet, that i will open to whoever wants to swap links, but ultimately my top tier blogs will be my own links, and my middle tier links will only be exchanged with those i trust, manually...

xxxjay if your not sending much traffic or poor quality traffic that could be the reason why many adult webmasters are dropping your links...

That said, I have never ever removed a link from the sites I trade with. And I have never ever got a link accepted at your fucking dumb link list... Go figure.

And BTW, I have seen tons of sites listed in your "Retro" link list, that redirect or install trojans.. I really wonder why are you so attracted to cheaters and not to honest webmasters...

Yeah, I have no traffic and it is all poor quality, you worthless faggot. These trades are mostly for SE purposes, so weather any hit are sent at all are not even an issue.

That sucks, now I'm going to spend the entire afternoon checking all link trades I have on my site. It's been a while since I've done this anyways

i used to check all my hardlink trades on a monthly basis to make sure people hadnt removed them, now i have someone check them weekly for me

as many sites as you have though i imagine checking all of them that often wouldnt be a realistic solution for you

Yeah, I did remove links to sites that had dropped trades. The whole reason I life the i just took the href tag out was a kind of ghetto way to remember not to trades with those sites anymore, also I did it that way so I could put links back if I made a mistake.

I don't recall ever doing that trade...sure it wasn't an abc trade? Also, someone else did own that site before me. I nuked some of the links when I bought it.

Well for the record I run Link Ass and I didnt remove your link until you removed mine, I emailed you about it and you said you'd be putting some back up soon, waited a month and saw you hadnt put it back up so then I finally removed yours.


No hard feelings though, guess its just an example of how sometimes when people remove hardlinks its a mistake and not intentional.

Moral of the story, check email, and every couple months take 10 mins to check your link trades to make sure you links are still up (incase you miss the email :winkwink: )

what i usually do when im checking a site to see if my link is there i view source and search find for my url, that way i can check for nofollow as well

and no reply from you to shitload of messages on icq...

and I am not alone... one of my partners was complaining that you did the same with his link also.. no notices, no replies to messages, nothing! just silent removal

so very possible that people just removed you from hardlink trades after YOU pulled them out first

This is the reason why I do not trade with anyone else anymore.... I don't have the time to fucking research whos dropping what links. Most of my sites now just have content and links within my own network, everything else outside has been removed.

Actually, I can tell you why I pulled those. You and your partner had that big series of toplists that I traded a ton of hardlinks with, then I looked and found that all the toplist things were gone, so I just dropped all the trades I was doing with you.
