Ordinarilly, people who make physical threats don't go through with it. The ones who actually do things keep it to themselves so it can't be added to the evidence against them at a later date.

Pepper Spray is illegal in Canada and I wouldn't want to break the law. I did the correct thing and alerted the authorities about the threat on my person and now it's going to become a legal matter.

Yes. I contracted from Canada Post years ago and the carriers couldn't carry pepper spray, but a bunch of them had Bear Spray, which is supposedly worse. Go figure.
