If he is in fact local to you I'd recommend screwing him up the legal way. Go file a complaint for the death threat with the police department and then get yourself a personal protection order. Long term a decent civil paper trail showing that he's a piece of shit will come back to haunt him.

Wrong again chief. It varies by state.

That can be further complicated by property laws, and the definition of imminent danger.

i.e. someone threatens to say, send people to come rough you up. Then they show up at your door.

You might wanna bone up on the laws, and not speak in broad generalities.

How about if the owner is from the came city, lives a few blocks away and assures you personally should anything ever happen he'd pay you out of his pocket. Little different situation then most.

I won't do anything of the sort, I don't believe in threats or violence to solve matters, especially for $1500.

Pressing charges for uttering threats will be a lot more effective then anything else.
