you don't need it to participate, but basically it is a piece of paper that says "i know wtf i'm doing".

the level i am at now, i believe i can run tech inspection, do timing and scoring, and other things around the track.

i am hoping with a few more events next year i can re apply and get the license for Chief Driving Instructor. then i get to yell at people when they do stupid shit out on course. :pimp

I asked a friend who is a cop about it.

He said this, which I am not sure is 100% accurate, but you also have to believe that cops don't really want to chase things without being more certain.

Without someone claiming to have viewed it, it's just someone posting a video that could have happened recently, or could have happened whenever. There's no "timestamp". Also, you have to have someone making the complaint as the driver has 5th amendment rights of not incriminating yourself (which seems comical as I would assume this video is posting evidence... kind of like if you murdered someone and there was no evidence whatsoever.... except for the video of you killing them).

So anyways... seems like FTVRob surely has done his homework about getting caught or prosecuted. I would venture to say there is a prosecutor out there that would creatively find a way to make it happen.

I would never publish this.... but then again, I would never do this off of a controlled track.

You guys don't think past the present. They will figure out who it was as they already have DMV records of all the cars in the state. I'm sure there aren't very many gold lambos in that area.

Even if they can't bust him on this he has now made a spectacle of himself and the cops will take notice. They will very likely figure out he runs porn sites and so on, then it's only a matter of time before they start looking into that.

Even if everything you do in porn is on the up and up, you still don't make a spectacle of yourself. Look where it got the dude from GGW. Doing stupid ass shit like this can be what brings a closer look into his adult business. Once you become a target they will get you sooner or later.

L-Pink 11-28-2007 12:40 AM

The more successful you are the lower your profile should be, Hollywood excluded.

If I remember right from one of Rob's old posts, I think he has one of the only model's of this type; yeah it wouldn't be tough to look in the DMV records and see the 50 or so Merc drivers in the state. Whittle that down by color and you may have a handful.

Nicely put. Showing off, regardless of what business you are in, is never a great idea. It tends to get you noticed in a bad way, which is the furthest thing that you really need.

It looks like Rob and his Lambo video made it to the local headline news here in Phoenix. The DPS is investigating the incident that took place on the Red Mountain Freeway. I am sure this is not over for him.
This is worthy of a thread itself.

It's amazing that they would give someone as retarded as this Rob punk a license to drive with an iq as low as his. Furthermore it's scary as hell that there are people out on the roads putting other innocent peoples lives in jeopardy just so they can amuse themselves. They make tracks for people to do this shit, not the open Public roadways.:helpme

I agree with the safety issue. I would call Rob a punk, but rather he could have used better Judgment and set this 219 record on a track designed for such speed.

The thing is, it is NOT a record. He used the cars speedometer which is highly inaccurate :2 cents:

Just out of curiosity, how do you know the speedometer is highly inaccurate?

I was thinking this myself. I found it hard to believe that the DPS follows Youtube.

An in car speedo is inaccurate, as there are so many things that could cause discrepancies. ie tyre wear, tyre inflation, standard or non standard wheels/tyres used etc... Not sure about the states, but here the police tend to deduct a percentage from the speed you were 'caught' for to take into consideration erroneous speedo readings...

Well, many people have seen this and his other vids long before they were posted on GFY.

What is your evidence that it had to be someone on GFY?

I didn't know the police takes pictures of your speedo to determine your speed :winkwink:
