Why do we pronounce the R in Favre before the V?

CDSmith 11-29-2007 09:04 PM

Ooh I didn't like that last pass interference call. Looked to me like their feet just got tangled, but now the packers suffer another Dallas TD. Ouch.

Selena --- I think it's a French thing.

FYI... if you don't get the game from your local provider you can still watch the FREE live stream at nfl.com. :thumbsup

I'm not forgetting anything... The matchup between the two didn't pan out what I thought it was gonna be like tonight.

When one of them gets injured it rarely does pan out the way anyone thought it would.

True, and their backup has nothing to be ashamed of. He played great.

That guy is one of the best kept secrets of the entire league.

I'll have to mark that down in the learn-something-new-everyday column. I didn't know he was of French descent.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brett_Favre

"Favre was raised in the small town of Kiln, Mississippi and is of French and Choctaw ancestry"

Good read there. Lots of stuff I did not know about the guy.

Quote:

Favre was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the second round, 33rd overall in the 1991 NFL Draft. Atlanta coach Jerry Glanville did not approve of the drafting of Favre, saying it would take a plane crash for him to put Favre into the game. Favre's first pass in a NFL regular season game resulted in an interception returned for a touchdown. He only attempted four passes in his career at Atlanta, completing none of them.
Falcons sure could have used him this year. :D

That certainly was a disappointing game. :(

Look on the bright side. They managed to still put up 27 points on what many consider to be the #1 team in the NFC and arguably the 2nd best team in the league, without their star quarterback.

I bet not many teams could do that.

The pack is playing with heart this year. Must give them their due.

Well I am freakin' bummed. Favre was my QB in Fantasy Football and the Fantasy Team I was up against this week had Owens and picked up Grant a couple of days ago. I got -1.8 for my QB. I am still in the playoffs, even if I lose this week, but it sucks to end the season like this. I hope Favre comes back.

My only hope to come back is Tomlinson and Adrian Peterson, who is hurt, so it doesn't look good for me and I HATE TO FUCKING LOSE!

I am also a little embarrassed because the guy who is going to beat me this week I had asked if he would trade Owens with me because he isn't going to make it into the playoffs, I didn't know that was a bad thing to do, this is my first year playing FF. Oh well live and learn. Damn fucking football. I hate it.
(but I will be back next year if Boneprone invites me hehe)

Yeah....thanks to the ref on that bullshit interference call. They had it right the first time, it was clearly "incidental contact". I hate when games like this are decided on questionable calls like that. The refs blew it big-time!

I wonder if that bonehead that overturned the original call is on the take? You never know these days...
