Its the people who say people like Ron Paul has no chance who cause our country to fall into a pile of shit.

collegeboobies 12-03-2007 11:18 AM

You guys know that Obamas biggest grassroots supporter switched over to Ron Paul?

My name is Marc Whittemore. I started the original grassroots group ObamaLA and carried it until it was 2,500 people strong. Having done substancially more homework now I am inclined to switch my vote.

Make no mistake about it -- I think Obama would make an AWESOME President -- far better than any other stale "part of the problem" Democrat running. However. In case you have not noticed America is picking up "flush momentum" and going down the tubes FAST. We no longer have time for rehersals or inexperience. We MUST get it right and get it right this time. We don't even have the luxury of voting along party lines if we are to get it right.

And so. Even more surprising is that for the first time in my 32 years of voting I will be voting for a Republican president. And that Republican is Ron Paul. Listen people. And take the time to listen CLOSELY to Ron Paul -- because, like the last, we can ill afford one more drastic idiot mistake in the White House. Lives depend on making the right choice -- indeed our entire nation depends on the right choice this time.

Sincerely,
Marc Whittemore
Los Angeles, CA

Ron Paul also wins most of the straw polls. People who say he has no chance really do not have a clue. Someone "that has no chance" does not out raise the rest of his field in the 4q. :2 cents:

Ron Paul has some pretty good and intense ideas....but anyone that thinks he has any kind of a chance is delusional. The decision is not made on digg.com or the handful of other sites that his supporters have seemed to infest. I know Ron Paul supporters get a kick out of people who say what I just said...they post pictures of rally, links to (obviously gamed) online polls but come on...get real. :1orglaugh

If anything Ron Paul is a Barak Obama spoiler if and when he runs outside of the Republican ticket.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows Giuliani with 20% support nationwide while Huckabee attracts 17%. Fred Thompson is at 14%, John McCain at 13% and Mitt Romney at 11%. Ron Paul attracts 7% of Likely Republican Primary voters nationwide and no other Republican candidate reaches 2%

Ron Paul has 7% of Likely Repuclican Primary voters nationwide now. This is his biggest polling yet and it keeps going up. Add in the independents and Dems that will vote for him and he is up there with the best of them.

What I find so interesting about the Ron Paul movement is that he didnt start it himself. From what I understand, there was and is a big group of people on the Internet who found his website, analyzed his voting record and then determined- this is our guy. They then convinced him to run! The group is Libertarian minded and I see them all over boards, exposing their limited government views.

So Ron Paul is exactly opposite of many politicians who try to run and then convince people. Ron Paul is literally just along for the ride.

I think the big question is- what Republican is going to adopt some of his views on taxation and most importantly, foreign policy, to capitalize on this movement. Ron Paul polls very well amongst independents and nobody talks about it.

Maybe a Huckbee-Paul ticket? They both want to abolish the IRS. Now Huckbee would just have to take his foreign policy stance.

Also, if Paul doesnt take Iowa, he is done. :(

IllTestYourGirls 12-03-2007 11:38 AM

100% wrong. If he does not come in the top 3 in New Hampshire he may be done though. I doubt it. He will stay till the end to spread his ideas.

This would be the greatest race ever.

Paul already said he would not run as an independent.

DaddyHalbucks 12-03-2007 12:44 PM

A woman and a black on the ticket? That would be too good to be true.

They'd lose for sure.

:)

Ron Paul supporters sound eerily similar to people in religious cults.

I'm serious.

I like the guy and all, but saying that me not thinking he can win is causing our country to fall into a pile of shit is ridiculous.

I also remember this collegeboobs guy posting in another thread that Ron Paul "deserves" to be president based on his stance on the issues.
Again, ridiculous.

He's at 7% and you think that puts him up there with the best of them?

Dude you've got to quit drinking the kool aid.

I mean it's one thing to be a staunch supporter of the guy, but it's another to make up your own dream scenarios about how he's going to win or how he has as much support as the top tier candidates, because he wont, and he doesn't.

Blah blah blah, most Ron Paul supporters to do fit into the poll question "likely Republican primary voter" usually requires that they voted Republican in the last primary. If not, they are not counted. Many Ron Paul supporters use the internet and cell phones and do not have traditional land lines, so they are not counted in polls. Independents and Democrats are not counted as Ron Paul voters in the polls even if they will vote for Ron Paul.

This quarter he has already raised more than every other Republican candidate did last quarter. They dont have real time fundraising stats so their is no way to know how they are doing this quarter, but the previous quarters the donations for them have DROPPED.

Underestimate his support all you want, we want it that way.

Ron Paul deserves to be president based on the fact that he is the most honest person running. I never said he deserves to be president simply based on the issues. Again people like you who compare politically active people to religious cults are the scum of society.

People who say "oh he cant win" are not causing the country to fall into a pile of shit, perhaps that attitude is the results of the shitpile. that attitude is bullshit, anyone on the ballot can win and saying someone cant that far ahead based on PHONE POLLS of 500 people is un-American at the least.

I'm done with this thread going to donate more to Ron Paul

later.

America is fucked.

You mean you haven't given the $2300 maximum to your hero yet?

Shame on you

Snake Doctor 12-04-2007 01:20 AM

collegeboobies, your rationalizations for why you think he will win are beyond the scope of logic and reason.

It's like you want him to win so bad that you're inventing fantasy scenarios under which he could win....and then telling people who call you out on your fantasy that they're un-American scum.

Ron Paul is not gonna be president, I'm not gonna get a blowjob from Angelina Jolie, Jesus isn't coming back....that's just the way it is no matter how badly you want it not to be.

I am not saying he is GOING to win! I am saying you and people like you saying he has no chance are complete fucking morons and are unAmerican as it gets.

Rudy Giuliani 18%, Mike Huckabee 18%, John McCain 14%, Fred Thompson 13%, Mitt Romney 12%, Ron Paul 7%

This national poll released Dec 4th shows how things are currently.

Things have changed a lot from 1 month ago, and some states there are 5 months left until a primary vote. You saying someone has no chance, who was at a measly 0-1% only 4 months ago is retarded.
11% separates the top from the bottom as of December 4th. Ok, tell me, who is going to win?

Someone who has raised $10.5 million dollars in 2 months, who has 7% in national polls, constantly growing support and money, 73,000 meetup supporters and rising over 3000 per week, more media attention every week, has no chance? What planet are you on? Live in denial all you want, but he has a CHANCE. I go to the casino often and there is a CHANCE I will win a lot of money, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesnt.

There is logic and reason for you.

tblake 12-04-2007 05:37 PM

I agree that Republican phone polls are biased against Ron Paul- that is not where his supporters lie. People that have voted Republican in the past with LAN phone lines don't know who Ron Paul is.

On the other hand, I think that just about any Internet poll you take will show Ron Paul as the winner. Rep. or even for a general election. Take the Fox txt messaging poll from the first Rep. debate. The winner? Ron Paul. But it was quickly discounted as "spammers" and "robots". Although its great for RP because these robots have money and have given him 10mil+ this quarter. Not bad robots!

Her certainly has a chance. We will all know more once the real primaries begin in a month. I have a feeling there are going to be so many "cult" followers of Ron Paul there on the ground with signs, brochures, etc that he just might win....
