This mode of thinking that the woman gets to "keep everything" is totally inaccurate and unfair. In my case, it turned out to be the reverse.

Well reverse that and it's what the men get 90% of the time. I've seen more than enough people get divorces and the men almost always get screwed over.

Bullshit. It's totally accurate. You are the 1 in 100,000 exception to the rule.

I have heard enough stories to know I am not the 1 in 100,000 exception. I spent a year of my life going through this divorce, reading everything I could get my hands on and talking to anyone who had been through anything remotely similar. I am, quite unfortunately, very familiar with divorce law.

In situations where one spouse (usually, but not always, male) is a very high earner and is responsibly documented as such, there is a higher percentage of cases where the non-earning (usually, but not always, female) spouse walks away with (admittedly) more than she should. But this is not the case with the MAJORITY of divorces.

Well if you think of getting out.. You should've thought of not entering it in the first place:D

If it is a good partnership then you get a person that is going to walk through life next to you and stay there when things are bad. Obviously it is about finding the right person. I can't imagine how horrible marriage to the wrong person must be but to the right person it is great.

As far as needing a bit of paper goes, I understand that but the facts are that there are protections to each other that come from the legal union. When you love somebody that much you want to bring all the protections to the table and that includes women for men too.

As far as all these women taking money..which women are people marrying that don't have their own jobs and money?
