We are not out of business :) We've mainly focused on mainstream as of late , but if you do need managed dedicated servers.. do let me know :) |

I love when hosts dismiss a virtual as a nobody. I had a virtual with WA some time ago. Funny, now I have 3 dedi servers. Their loss. You never know WHO is going to be the next dedi customer, and treating them like piss ants will just lose you business, and gain a mouthpiece on forums. :2 cents: |

The guy staying in a luxury suite at the Hilton gets more perks than 10 guys crammed into a hostile, that's how life works and that's how hosting works. That said, I had a virtual plan with webair 10 or so years ago, worked great for a long time then the HD failed and I lost everything and had to reupload. I also had a dedicated server for a couple years without a problem. |
The CP has always worked great for me... Virtual and dedicated. No problems wether I added domains or ftp...

virtual and dedicated customers should all be treated the same. There are many hosts that offer both services, with all working control panel functions working fine. Excuses are like assholes, everyone has them and they all stink

I pay more in one month than you do for a year = no probs :)
invest in your biz bro |
They never return my calls. I got a dedicated and I still can't even put up a single site on it yet.

I do not like to post negative comments about anyone but my experience with webair was as follows
Virtual account-no support, bad product and service etc Dedicated - better but the damage was done and I switched to a different host soon after. |

I've had a small server with Webair just to try them out for my design portfolio and it took AGES to set up my server and they wouldnt even answer my ticket. So I closed the account which took ages again. I switched to www.reliablehosting.com a while back and they offer excellent support, even tho I have a small hosting package. This is the type of company that will get a lot of money from me in the long run. |
i do love how some people think everyone walks into this biz with $25,000 to spend or something like that.
And virtual hosting is profitable..for every $250 or $1000 someone pays for one box they can fit hundreds of customers on a virtual setup. |

http://www.colo-cation.com - don't let the non-updated website fool you or the basic panel fool you. Everything works, and uptime is rock solid.

Like Christina, I don't like to delve into negativity and prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt, but I was with Webair for awhile and had nothing but poor performance issues with them on a virtual account for months. The only reason I didn't switch off them sooner was because I just do this stuff on the side, I just started in this business last year, and I didn't really know where to go for alternative hosting because I didn't want to get shafted again. I don't deny that their dedicated accounts work well. I've never used them and again, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. My own experience with my virtual account however wasn't so hot. My sites were constantly timing out, not loading and were generally slow, and every time I issued a support ticket all I ever got back was "Well, it's working fine now. Please issue another ticket the next time it happens." The sites were simple wordpress blogs, nothing fancy running on them.
Gerard I'm sure is a swell guy, but the fact is this is GFY.com. People shouldn't have to come here looking for Gerard if they've got an issue with Webair. If Gerard's the only guy that can get stuff done, then his information should be plastered on Webair.com and everyone else should be retrained or let go. As well, if I'm not using enough resources to warrant getting a dedicated server then hey, sorry, but I'm going to get one just for the hell of it. You want to talk about good business, that wouldn't really make much sense from a business standpoint would it? If you're not going to put any effort into reliable virtual hosting, then either don't offer it or just put a disclaimer on your site that says your virtual servers aren't any good. I remember reading about all the money supposedly put into the virtual accounts back then and can safely say I never noticed any difference at all. I finally moved my sites elsewhere and it's been night and day. Loads smooth, never had downtime, support staff is excellent. They monitor the virtual accounts and avoid overcrowding on them. I'm one of those people mentioned that would've gladly upgraded my account to dedicated on Webair once the time was right, but now it's other hosting companies that are going to be getting my money once that happens. |
I am always surprised when I see these threads about Webair. I guess I am just lucky but I have always had pretty decent service and support from them. I hit up the 24 hour support all the time (I am a pain in the ass) and it is usually quite helpful. I have a dedicated and multiple virtual accounts and I am a satisfied customer.

i have a dedicated and virtual account with them and I am happy with both to date
