Just to further what Bill already said, NatNames was not really designed to be a big player in the domain registration price wars. Most of the customers that use NatNames have hundreds upon thousands of domains and they dont mind spending a few dollars a year more to get the personal, hands on service that we provide. Where else can you call your domain company on the phone and get a human being on the phone in 3 rings or less 24x7x365?

We have actually thought about raising the prices by a dollar just to keep up with the expenses we have in offering that type of personalized service. Of course, we would not raise the price on existing clients just the new ones.

Hope this helps answer your question.

While I understand your question, every one has sales at times. Heck...just look at this board at any given time and you'll see 2-3 hosting companies making special offers in order to generate new business. We have all purchased something at one time or another only to see it go on sale later. That's just businesses doing what they do...

Well, service requests are always responded to in 5 minutes or less.

Sales inquiries are always the same day and usually within an hour, however, as stated above, I am at the Xbiz show and only checking my email in between events (like right now).

If you have further questions, please email me at sales AT nationalnet DOT com

Considering Bill is in LA and he responded to my email at 9am this morning, that's pretty damn impressive ;)

Let's chat Monday Bill.

One of my servers at one of my hosts occaisonally dies and does not recover. It only started happening since they installed a second HD about 18 months ago. They've run HD tests and there's never been anything conclusive to point the finger.

It just died again, so I think it's time to move to new hardware. I'm not married to this host by any means, in fact due to their customer service I've already moved 2 boxes elsewhere and I'd be happy to be rid of them completely.

Now, the most important thing: do natnet offer proactive monitoring? Can you regularly ping my server and will a human call me if it goes down?

Also, and I think I asked this previously, can I manage my own server?

Hi there,

I think we discussed this via email already but yes, we do very pro-active monitoring and even if you are managing the server, we would still deal with any down/un-pingable server within minutes of us getting an alert. We would not call you...we would just deal with it and make sure all services are running. We have a 24/7 NOC staffed with very talented individuals. No need to call you if we can fix it ourselves

We host some of the largest companies in our industry (Penthouse, Hustler, Naughty America, Karups, LightSpeed, PlatinumBucks, Camz, SpaCash, Shemp, AL4A, Twistys, ConsumptionJunction, TripleXCash, TeenRevenue, HushMoney and Shaw Internet?just to name a few), and they most certainly would not tolerate a server being down for very long :)

As detailed on the rules page at http://www.nationalnet.com/price-match.php, the special ends midnight EST February 11.

Now, if you're asking how long your price stays the same, the answer is, as long as you host with us. We would most certainly not bring you in at an aggressive price only to raise it later

I'm not sure I understand this question at all. If you're asking will we honor the payment you made to your old host and not bill you until April, then the answer is no...we will not.

brentwic 02-20-2008 12:14 AM

Any possiblity of giving some of us long term customers a better price... I know I pay much more for what I have based on what I moved from - I love the service and have had no problems but as a small business every bit counts so I have to ask....

azzam 02-21-2008 03:36 AM

For those of us who missed the sale, how often do you offer price matching?

sexykat 02-21-2008 04:54 AM

Let me know when you do the price matching again

HunkyLuke 02-21-2008 08:05 AM

For those that missed the price match sale, we still have some nice deals on dedicated servers, like a server with a dual core processor / 1GB RAM / 2x120GB disks / 5Mbps bandwidth for $199 (99 setup). I am happy to help you get setup and moved to NationalNet hosting, just email me on [email protected] or [email protected] with your requirements so I can get you a quote.

cheers,
Luke
