Pump action shotgun is the way to go. Here's my Mossberg. If I miss em with the buckshot, then I can still give them a good poke with the bayonet.

You can probably get one with a shorter barrel if you live in the US. Up here they have to meet a minimum overall length, so I had to go with a slightly longer barrel because of the pistol grip.

Haha. Definitely not. I bought the gun from a local dealer then added the pistol grip, bayonet and side shotshell holder myself.

Only trouble is I can't actually use it for hunting now since it doesn't have the plug in it to limit the amount of shells. (it's not like I could hit anything with that pistol grip anyway.) :winkwink:

Just because you don't need or want a gun for protection doesn't mean everyone else's situation is the same as your's. I don't carry a pistol, but I certainly have a gun at the house.

I mentioned the hunting to say Im not a anti gun freak but if you live in a area that makes you feel you need a gun at home its time to leave as many places exsist that wouldnt make you feel like you needed a gun.

Of course if you live in south africa like my buddy well she has no choice (but i would still personally move if i was her)

What exactly was he charged with? There's no reason anyone in the house shouldn't be able to access the guns if they want.

You sure he didn't have it stored improperly? If you don't have (at minimum) a trigger lock on the gun and the ammo stored separately in a locked container, then they like to hand out fines for that.

I keep all mine in a gun safe. But if I want to give other people in the house my combination they shouldn't be able to stop me.
