Uncool to raise the question, but i knew it'd popup :P

People who expect anyone to get cought on this are living in movie land. Those that did that are way beyond anyone here can fathom in general security knowledge. They do that shit for living. Only way they'd get cought if someone got goverment agencies involved (and even then, if), and that aint happening anyway. Stop asking stupid questions. Was it fixed or not, that's the real question.

Well NATS provides secure software for a living. SO you are saying that the people who pulled this off is smarter than NATS and beyond being caught ??? It's not like they hacked some free site or something. I thought John said he was getting the authorities involved...

Normally I wouldn't give a shit about this drama, but I had to change a ton of passwords to ones I could never remember in a thousand years, plus this had XBIZ exposure and yet, no real resolutions... makes me cringe to be honest. To think if I was a program owner paying $150 a month for that peace of mind not to mention all the other set up fees, I'd be fucking pissed, so what is the deal? It's a valid point, and placing will76 on ignore only makes me want to think something is up. Get your PR guy in here and let's start spinning this thing please...

Again, if you have questions about it, contact me and I'm more than willing to answer anything you'd like. I'm done discussing shit like that on this board. Half of the people here aren't even in this biz and half of the other half are just fake names here to stir shit. If you have questions, contact me and I'm glad to talk to you about it. I'm not discussing things like that on here anymore. It is a waste of time & energy.

John which 1/2 do I fall in, the 1/2 that isn't in the biz or the 1/2 uses fake nicks????/

If 100% of the people here are fake nicks or not in the biz at all why are you spamming your Nats stuff here ???

You keep making posts that you don't want to discuss this here.... but you have no problem discussing " Final Special Offers from Nats". No one is asking you to "discuss" anything. You haven't posted on this board much at all for over 2 months, you pop back up after all the drama not to give us an update but to try to sell more licenses. No one was trying to debate with you what has happened in the past, we were just asking if there had been any updates. Giving an update is not asking for a discussion, its simply asking for an update. And why you keep saying contact you directly to ask you these questions... that makes no sense, why not address all the questions here first. After what happened you think your first post back on here after a while would be to let everyone know how you working with the authorities or lawyers or whatever you were saying, is going, not to make an announcement about a special offer.

I know I know, just contact you and you will answer my questions. :upsidedow

I'd like to be able to pass some info back. The site they joined, option they used, campaign it was on, country, maybe the member's IP address and possibly their username. Maybe even allow some other details to be passed back. Just don't want to open any issues and I think thats something the affiliate program owner should have a lot of control over if we implement it.

TMM_John 03-02-2008 12:33 AM

Demographics Report sample: (long image)

http://www.teendolls.com/nats4/demostats.jpg

Each continent is clickable to a map of that continent showing the details for each country. These reports will allow you to get a quick visual representation of stats (hits, joins, ratio, etc.) overall or for a certain site, campaign, etc.

The report is shown sorted by country name however the production report will allow you, the affiliate, to sort it by any column shown.

Please also note that there is a good chance the "qualified hits" concept is being removed completely from NATS v4.

TMM_John 03-02-2008 12:40 AM

I should point out that these templates being shown are the new "standard NATS affiliate templates" which will be included with all NATS installs. Affiliate programs will still of course have the ability to create their own templates. However, we found that many of our clients prefered to keep it simple and use what we gave them which prior to this was a very very basic set of templates.

We had assumed that most would want to fully customize their templates. We were wrong and found that the majority of our clients wanted the affiliates to be familiar with the stats pages so they kept them the same. We decided with NATS v4 to provide these much nicer templates and allow programs to simply place their logo in the header and be ready to go.

Affiliates will be able to chose their skin (template set) in the account settings section and we will recommend that programs who create a custom skin leave the standard NATS skin available for affiliates to chose if they would like. This of course is option tho we expect most if not all programs to do so.

We will also be providing this default skin a number of languages so the affiliates can have their stats areas in their native language.

Does the v4 have improved affiliate search in the Resellers Admin? That's something I would definitely like to see :)

Very much looking forward to the new version :thumbsup

This is a ground up rewrite and the admin is getting some significant changes also. We are just not sure yet if a visual update to the admin will come in 4.0 or 4.1 :) Please shoot me an icq or email with how you would like affiliates searchable and I will make sure it is in there.

Why not just hit John up and ask him directly ?

I wouldn't mind going through a 'technology preview', as a third party VA...wait, I'm not a VAR, what the hell am I? Asshole, yes.. but in regards to NATS, specifically.

It's pretty! :thumbsup

One thing I'd like is "Sales by Country" on the affiliate end. Some of us redirect traffic by countries, buy traffic from specific countries, etc. It helps to know how that traffic does via country. If that could be added (optional for affiliate programs to turn on or off), it would be great.

This is kind of something that you need to take up with your biller.

Due to the portability of IP addresses, and the fact that NATS doesn't actually do anything with the IP but pass it to the biller, and record it, that's probably not gonna happen in NATS.

But something like this needs to be addressed if it hasn't - with the ever-growing number of billers using geo-ip technology for billing in native currencies, the US$ equivalent showing in stats is confusing for affiliates using revshare because it changes from day-to-day.

Something as simple as putting an asterisk next to a sale to highlight it was a non-US$ sale would be helpful.
:2 cents:

borked 03-02-2008 02:57 AM

John,

Does NATS4 allow for deep link tracking? If not is there a nice solid API for program owners to plug into?

That would be useful, I agree.

NATS stores the IP address as a large numeric number, rather than the dotted quad, natively, so given the IP-to-country or a MaxMind database, it may be technically possible (easier this way); I am just stating that I don't know if it would be very feasible.

Thurbs 03-02-2008 03:13 AM

while I really like the way some of these things are going .. what kind of DB straign will all this Geographic Information put on NATS servers? Seems to be alot of information to poll and put together on every stats view

can I shoot over some suggestions for the Admin Overview / Resellers Admin areas????

Will geo targeted pricing be available? I want to send my euro traffic to higher priced join pages in epoch, ccbill and any other biller in the cascade. All US and other traffic can be sent to the normal priced join pages in epoch, ccbill and any other biller in the cascade.

I guess you missed where I said I signed up to SEVERAL programs that use nats, my email and info was compromised, that is why I care.

Better question for you, why do you care? You are not even in this industry.

Are you trying to tell me that affiliate's private info doesn't matter ?

Give me a break. The only thing you want is to get on your soap box and act important. Nobody wants your shitty email address. If you havent figured it out by now that your email address is not hidden on the internet you need to get the fuck out of this biz. This shit happens all the time with MUCH larger mainstream databases and goes unnoticed or unfixed. Nats corrected the situation and anyone with a program worth a salt has allready secured their info. And beleive me the ip fix works. Start another thread why dont you. You have to try to ruin a real biz thread which holds more value than anything you have posted lately.

you are right, no one wanted the email addresses, that is why they went through the trouble to do something illegal to collect email addresses for months. So what did they want if they didn't want my email address, why did they do it then ?

Take a peak at post #50 http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showpo...2&postcount=50

That is an affiliate report breaking everything down by country. You can see and/or limit your statistics by country. It will show you everything based on country including hits, join page hits, join page submits, referring URLs, joins, rebills, profit, etc.

You can use campaign to make even more use out of it. Say you buy a German and a UK traffic source. You can point each one at a campaign and see in fact what country the hits for those buys are coming from and how the different countries are performing for each of those campaigns. You can also see which sites or tours are doing better for countries, etc.

If I totally misunderstood you just let me know and I'll try to answer what you meant :)

GA I know you know NATS v3 very well but NATS v4 is a ground up rewrite that does many things NATS v3 doesn't do and does many things it does even better.

NATS v4 has full country tracking (a database such as MaxMind is required of course) :)

I'm assuming you mean the ability to link to any page of the tour? NATS v3 allows you to link to the join page if you'd like. Linking to any tour page is something we are playing with in v4. It may or may not make the initial release but we are trying :) If you mean something else please let me know.

I believe this is something uou can achieve this on an admin level in NATS v3 by setting up mulitple cascades and geo-targetting them. The techs can help you set this up if you would like. I don't know if this is something we want to allow on an affiliate level however. (I believe you meant on the admin level tho)

Yes, linking to any page - why does it have to be a tour? Sites can use NATS without being a paysite...
Just some simple API allowing programmers to put that deep-linked hit back into NATS in a painless NATS-way would be sufficient. Sure it's possible now, but a less painful-method, documented way would be cool.

Yes on the admin level. I talked to the techs and they said it was not possible the way I wanted it. Each cascade could not include the same processor account with a different pricing/product code.

check it out... 169-234-59

If you can set it up the way I described it then this would be huge for you John. Everyone using your software can earn 10-20% more.

Yeah, it wouldn't be very straight forward, It would need some playing around with to do it. Possibly duplicating sites or something. I will review the ticket and speak with the guys tomorrow tho. Something that should almost defiantly be doable in 4 if it isn't now. But going to try to find a way to do it for you now in 3.

Thank god.

Please tell me that the whole 'shortname' BS is finally gone, and you can have the same gateway in a cascade for different accounts, finally.

Sorry, I read it too fast and didn't realize this was something affiliates could see too. It's a great feature and will help guys like me who do a lot of advertising based on country.
